This delightful “jewel” is situated on a hillside overlooking the ocean and the Simpson Bay Lagoon with one of the best views on the island! The pool deck is a perfect place to enjoy this 180-degree view during the day or at night under the stars. It’s great for lounging by the pool, enjoying a glass of wine with friends, or a romantic dinner with that special someone.
During the day, the pool is an excellent way to cool off, swim some laps, or relax on a float reading a book. Just a short 3-minute walk from Bijou, is Baie Rouge, one of the most beautiful beaches in St. Martin, where you can go for a swim or snorkel in the warm, crystal clear, Caribbean blue water. Then you can lay out your towel on the sand, so you can enjoy the warm sun, ocean air, and sound of the water.
(Rates are based on a 2 person stay. There is an additional $20/person/night for more than 2 people.)
At the villa, the remodeled kitchen has all the amenities and is an enjoyable place to fix a meal if you want to take a break from eating out at one of the many wonderful restaurants in St. Martin. Barbecue fresh fish on the patio grill for a real treat!
During the day, you can open the shutters onto the pool deck for an open Caribbean living experience, filled with sunshine, tropical air, and views of the water and beautiful garden surrounding the villa. Together with the open floor plan, this creates an enchanting, spacious, and carefree ambience. There is often a cool breeze that comes up the hill from the ocean and lagoon, helping to cool the afternoons.
In the main house, there is a master bedroom with a king bed and en-suite bathroom; and a smaller bedroom with a queen size bed and bathroom across the hall that is perfect for one adult or two children. There is a separate studio cottage with a king size bed, bathroom, and small kitchen just a hundred feet from the main house. This is ideal for another couple, a single relative, or a teenager who wants some space! All bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The Baie Rouge area where Bijou is located is safe, with a gated entrance during nighttime hours. It is just a 15-minute drive from Princess Juliana Airport, and grocery stores are conveniently located just 5 minutes away by car. Marigot, the capital of the French side of St. Martin is a short 10-minute drive, and Grand Case, the “gourmet capital of the Caribbean” is a 20-minute drive.
Included in the rental is a bi-weekly house cleaning but arrangements can be made for cleaning services more often if desired. Our friendly, on island contact and housekeeper, Cindy, will be attentive to your needs. The owner is always happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. We want your stay at Bijou to be an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Summary: First of all, the views from the house are just stunning. The owner Lyndy was very good at communtication and answered all of my questions. We walked in and she had a basket full of fruit and yummy treats and some things in the refrigerator. This was so nice as all of the stores were closed because it was Christmas day. Ed checked us in and showed us everything we needed to know about the house. The house was stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Plus is was very clean. Cindy (house keeper) came 2 times during our stay, which was so nice. She also scheduled us a driver for New Years Eve. My family loved the outdoor shower. Also the house is very maintained and clean. We would definitely come back and rent from Lyndy.

Summary: The view is outstanding. The house has everything you need for a comfortable relaxing stay. St Martin is a very beach location but the private pool was a plus. You are within a 5 min walk to Baie Rouge Beach. To us... it was one of the nicest beaches on the island. The welcome basket was another plus!!! After a long day of travel the last thing we wanted to do was to have to find a grocery store. It was above and beyond. The location was a perfect balance between the French and Dutch. We felt very safe. Ed was very attentive to anything we needed and all of our island questions. We would definitely return to Lyndy and Charlie's paradise.

Summary: The other reviews here are completely accurate - this is a wonderful clean, quiet and safe villa just the right distance from Marigot and all it has to offer. Baie Rouge is one of the best beaches on the island in our experience - the remote location and clear waters are worth it. (And...no jet skiiers!) The fact you can walk there from your villa is one of the best features here. The owner and property manager were a joy to work with - they're very responsive to any questions you have. All the conveniences and appliances are up to date and fully working. The beds are incredibly comfortable! We will definitely be back to SXM and Villa Bijou will be our first choice.

Summary: As so many previous guests wrote, this was the best and most thoughtfully supplied vacation rental we've ever stayed in. We did a lot of cooking and really appreciated the staples & spices already in the cabinets, as well as the welcome basket--the most lavish ever--the fresh pineapple lasted us the whole time! The views were amazing from every angle; we were quite content to just stay there & not leave that tranquil & serene environment. Soft cushy towels, comfortable beds, plenty of storage space. The cottage worked perfectly for the part of our stay when family joined us. The kitchen has plenty of space for 4 adults to prep . Our 3-year-old granddaughter spent hours in the pool improving her swimming skills and has already emphatically informed us she will be returning. Having Cindy the cleaner come twice while we were there to refresh everything was quite a treat. Property manager Ed responded promptly if we had any questions and when a sink pipe clog repair was needed he came by at night and devised a creative solution that got everything working again. How a maintenance team functions normally is one thing, how they respond to an unexpected, (and rare) problem is another, a true test, and we were very impressed. Pool and garden were attended to throughout our stay--very luxurious for us as we are DIY at home. As Americans the 110v power was a major convenience. We're already planning another stay at Bijou and next time for longer than 10 days! Thank you Lyndy!
