Positive: Excellent communication from staff and support with transfers and arrivals. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was basic as I booked the Tree House which felt like it was one with nature. Despite being in the flight path the there were infrequent planes. Swimming pool was a bonus, very clean and refreshing. Grounds were beautiful and well looked after with lots of animals and nature to see. Overall a relaxing end to my trip to Sri Lanka.

Negative: Could have benefited from a kettle in the room. Door lock could have been more secure but I didn't feel it was a huge problem.

Positive: Many thanks to Steps Garden Resort, where we had a wonderful stay. Our bungalow was surrounded by greenery, with a small terrace offering a lovely view of the pool and the restaurant area. Our 6-year-old child loved it. The place is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of Negombo, but very easy to reach by transport, which is plentiful there. During our stay at Steps Garden, my wife had to be hospitalized, and my son and I were going back and forth between the hospital and the hotel. The entire staff took wonderful care of us. The owner even went to the hospital to help us communicate with the doctors, saying, “You are my guests — I will help you.” It is rare to find a team with such a strong sense of hospitality. Well done to them, and thank you

Negative: Steps was our first accommodation in Sri Lanka so I’ve left it a week to review so I can compare with other accommodation. We booked the tree house as an experience but felt disappointed; it was clean, a comfortable bed, but didn’t feel like a tree house more a box on stilts and was ‘rustic’. Maybe I should have booked one of the cabins? Also the breakfast was okay, the fresh fruit and coconut pancakes were nice, but other cooked items were often cold etc

Summary: Good but I do not recommend the treehouse?

Positive: This is a beautiful resort. The garden is stunning, the pool is beautiful. Our room was clean, pretty basic with comfortable beds and AC. We had our last night here, so we used their airport transfer which is completely free.

Negative: Don't even think about having dinner here! We waited 1.5 hours for our food! Everything was cold, tasteless and uncooked. Worst food we experienced in Srí Lanka!

Positive: They offer free airport shuttle service. The Accomodation is very good value for money.

Negative: Food is a bit more expensive than elsewhere, but the portions are huge so always reconsider the sharing.
