Positive: Lovely friendly hosts, brilliant location (esp for fell walking), the peace, the birds on the many feeders, the animals (esp the 4 collies & 2 cats! as well as the ducks chickens sheep cows etc. The fresh eggs!

Negative: The cottage had a lot of flies. The Lake District weather!!

Positive: Everything is amazing! Sally and David are so lovely, and the animals are so friendly. The cottage house is nice and cozy, well maintained, and it’s so close to Scafell Pike car park, which is perfect for people who want to hike!

Positive: The cottage is so cosy and warm. Wastwater lake and Scafell Pike are very close which was ideal. Sally-Anne was so friendly and welcoming, she made us feel very at home in the place and gave us some great advice and maps. Beautiful scenery surrounding the place too and it was lovely and quiet. The facilities for cooking are great and we loved the fireplace. Beds are super comfortable and the showers were nice.

Negative: Nothing, we had a great time.

Positive: Loved the welcome package with a bottle of wine, crisps, farm fresh eggs, milk and coffee. Cleaning and toiletries included. Had everything you needed to cook and lovely log burner to keep you warm. Even had DVD selection for the kids, drying room, freezer, fridge and so close to scafell with endless mountain walks. The kids loved it from 21 to 12 years old what a fantastic family holiday with lovely hosts.

Negative: A little hard to get on WiFi but that’s everywhere in that area if you keep trying you can get on.

Summary: Fantastic family holiday and base for lots of mountain walks with the kids.
