Negative: There were a few things in the room that were in slight disrepair, the shower handle, a light fixture.

Positive: The on-site family onsen and personal bath onsen. Also liked the tatami mat, and table chair set up but they are bit old and tired in need and renewing I think.

Negative: The room was not cleaned properly when housekeeping came in. They just refreshed water and maybe rearranged / refreshed towels but they left all dirty crockery or wipe any tables or bathroom and the didn't put away the Japanese beds then make them again like they do in Japan. She didn't even try to neaten them up at all. Also the restaurants for lunch had such a short opening window as did dinner so if you arrived outside of this you struggle to get anything decent to eat.

Positive: The staff were overall nice and friendly.

Negative: Considering the location, the room type (I thought there would be some kind of view when booking it, but there was none) and the property is a little rundown, it is not worth NT$5800. I’m a little disappointed with the overall value.

Positive: It was fabulous to stay where we could use the hot spring facilities. We arrived earlier than check in and it wasn't a problem to be able to use the hot springs. We were provided with a towel, bathrobe, shower cap (head covering required) and thongs (rubber slippers) in a basket and able to access the change rooms that had everything - lockers, showers and toilets, and then for afterwards a spinner to get water out of your swimmers, hair dryers, moisturiser etc. This meant we could have a spa and then go into town for lunch (we'd highly recommend Wuja Beef Noodles - use google translate for the all Chinese menu). Then when we returned our room was ready. We were then able to access the hot springs again before bed! We were travelling as a family and it was great to be able to get adjoining rooms. Finally, the in-room bath is also fabulous - deep Japanese style bath.

Negative: The included breakfast had a comprehensive range of choices, but mainly asian and salad. There were no western options like eggs, yoghurt or cereal, which don't seem like a difficult thing to add and would have been nice for our Western breakfast tastes.

Positive: We got a free room upgrade, which was very much appreciated. Big comfy bed and all the various amenities you could imagine in the room like indoor/outdoor slippers, robe, tea, coffee, etc.

Negative: Not a dislike per se; the breakfast has decent varieties but could be better.

Summary: One of the best choices for a hot spring hotel with private bath.

Positive: The hot spring pools were amazing. Nice variation between them, with different temperatures and bubbles etc. It was also lovely to have a private hot spring bath in my room. The room was spacious and a nice temperature.

Negative: The location isn't the most convenient. There aren't many restaurants nearby, and the nearest metro stations are a bit far (though the hotel does run a free shuttle bus roughly once an hour). Personally, I'd recommend staying here to use the hot springs, but not as a base for exploring other parts of Taipei.

Summary: Great hot springs, but a slightly inconvenient location for anything else.
