Positive: Location was perfect. Clean and neat. The views were stunning! The unit was well apportioned and was surprisingly large. It was a mother-daughter get-away and it was more than enough for our needs. We enjoyed sunrises and the off-season calm of Outer Banks.

Negative: Tv remote did not work but a maintenance person came quickly to resolve the issue. The door was hard to open with the code- but I figured it out. The unit was very clean! However, I found out that a lot of the dishes/utensils were dirty. I always wash them first but I found a clump of sand in one of the kitchen bowls. But that is a small issue compared to the overall great stay.

Summary: Perfect views, Perfect stay, Perfect for Outer Banks vacation!

Positive: Great location, unit very clean, spacious, free laundry on site

Negative: The steps to the 4th floor!!! Master bedroom mattress should be replaced, had a few springs broken and coming through so uncomfortable if you rolled onto one, lol There were no coffee filters, so I had to put my morning coffee on hold and drive to the store. Otherwise, had a wonderful stay!

Positive: It was a very nice small rental condo right on the beach. Only drawback were the 4 flights of stairs to get to the top floor. But the view was incredible of the sunrises.

Negative: Mattress in master bedroom was terrible. Curtains were like paper, could see right through them. Did not want to wake up every morning at 6:00am on vacation, need heavier curtains to block sunrise. No elevator, 51 steps.

Summary: Great location. Floor plan was good. Bad mattress and curtains.

Positive: The location, view, proximity and access to the ocean could not be beat. The unit was nice overall. The area was quiet, we did not use the pool but it was clean and seemed nice.

Negative: There is no elevator in this building- there is in the one next to it. There is an electronic suitcase lift that you can manually operate but it moved slowly and seemed really old so we tested it out with nothing in it and decided not use it. This would be very difficult for anyone with a handicap, difficulty walking, not in great shape or for anyone with young children that need to be carried because it is a lot of stairs. The chemicals that were used to clean before we got there were WAY to fragrant and it strongly lingered for the entire 3 days - I have asthma and allergies so I might be more sensitive to that- we opened all of the windows and doors as often as we could but it didn’t help. The couches in the unit were really dirty with visible liquid stains on the fronts, and cushions- it was itchy to sit on so we covered them with blankets when we used the couches.

Positive: The ocean front location was on a lovely stretch of the beach. Rodanthe is a great place if you want an low-key area that is close to great hiking and birding on Pea Island or Cape Hatteras. This unit is on the third floor and there is a outdoor luggage elevator to make moving in easier. The staff who helped with my check in issues were very friendly, professional and efficient.

Negative: The interior décor is a blend of standard tacky-beach shells and anchors with fluorescent 80s color paint. The kitchen and bathrooms were partially updated but the carpeting and screens need to be replaced. It was very clean when I moved it and the apartment is spacious so it wasn't a deal-breaker.

Summary: The location was key, not only the convenience but the ocean front view.
