Positive: Very modern, fresh, clean facilities! The balcony looking out onto the sea was such a beautiful spot to sit before bed. The room was spacious and private. We absolutely loved staying here and felt right at home. Nalin’s traditional breakfast was wonderful!

Negative: It’s a little walk into town so could sometimes make it a bit more effort to get into the main area. It is a climb up a flight of stairs to get to the room so if you have mobility issues don’t stay here. It’s only a double bed, would have loved the option to make it 2 singles

Summary: Nalin & his family were wonderful, caring hosts! We’ll be back, highlight of our trip.

Positive: Booked second time, and now I understand even more why so many guests love it here. The quality you get for the budget is amazing — the rooms are spacious, modern, and everything is made mostly from wood, which gives a very cozy, natural feeling. The rain shower in the bathroom is very nice, makes a big difference after a long beach day. Also, the pictures on the booking websites don’t do it full justice — in reality, the place feels even more cozy, beautiful. Many people say how quiet, safe, and relaxing it feels here, and I completely agree. You’re surrounded by nature, but still close to two beaches and a small shop. . Thank you again for everything!

Positive: The place is amazing. I came for 6 days and stayed a month! My room was very big, stylish and modern with a table for me to work, sea view and jungle view. Hot shower, AC, and shared small kitchen. Every is new and clean. I could watch lagoors, different lizards, peacocks, fireflies just from my balcony. 2 beaches within easy walk. Blue beach is quite nice for snorkeling. Also there is a small grocery shop nearby. And if course the family is the highlights , the sweetest people . Breakfast is different everyday. Dialog SIM works very good

Positive: The property is a lovely home stay with beautiful clean rooms with large ceilings, and a beautiful view. AC is great lovely and cold if you need. Shower is open air windows so stays nice and dry and doesn’t get to humid which I often found in Sri Lanka at other properties. Owner was amazing even one time I ask where I can find fuel, and he gave me some to get there, and refused to take any money for it.

Positive: This is a new homestay run by a lovely family. The room is new and clean with high ceilings and lovely and light. We had a couple of issues, we couldn't work out how to turn on the electric shower (an extra switch by the sink in our bathroom) and the WiFi wasn't working. The host quickly helped us. We loved the location as it is quiet but between Blue Beach and Hiriketiya Beach so a 5-10 minute walk. Breakfast was varied but a bit smaller than we've had elsewhere in Sri Lanka and there was a bit of confusion with one of us wanting tea and the other coffee. Not enough pots or hot water or... I assume it is teething problems as they have only been open for three months. Breakfast service needs to be a little smoother but overall it was a great homestay and I'd be happy to come back.

Positive: It’s brand new which makes it very clean and tidy. Having an ac in the south is something you really want so that was a nice to have. Location is a little bit out of the “center” of hiriketiya but we didn’t mind. Makes it more quiet and gives more of a local feel. And the walk to the beach is lovely. It’s nice that you get breakfast in the morning but don’t expect a big buffet. Overall we would definitely book it again.

Negative: Nothing in particular, we did recommend the owner to perhaps offer coffee or tea with breakfast in the morning. 😊

Positive: The rooms were the cleanest I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka! Beautiful and spacious. The WiFi was good. Quiet area which is what I wanted. The host and family were amazing, so kind and considerate. Offered lifts when there weren’t Tuktuks around. There is a communal fridge on the upper level which is handy. Best stay in Sri Lanka! Thank you :)

Negative: I was aware of this before staying but bear in mind it’s a hilly walk into Hiri, although it doesn’t take long 10 minutes max. There are 3 restaurants nearby but not much choice. There is a shop 4 mins away but each time I went it was closed… so stock up in town. Also tuktuks are rare by the location - download PickMe App where you can book one and they’re usually a lot cheaper!
