Summary: We had the good fortune to stay at the Riverview Suite at the Taste of the Lakeshore property, located in Fennville, just minutes outside of Saugatuck. This property is beautifully appointed, a spectacular, soothing view of the Kalamazoo River (including through our Suite window) and the most delicious breakfasts both mornings. The bedroom had a very comfortable Queen sized bed, adequate space for our belongings and loads of small touches that welcomed us.The absolute bonus of this property is the two hosts...both of which know a thing or three about hosting, entertaining, cooking and fun. They are well versed in the surrounding towns and special sites and the welcome mat is out, should you like to chill at the house. We have spent many lovely weeks and weekends in Saugatuck for the last 50 plus years and , as of this weekend, have a new favorite place...so much so, we are returning later this summer.

Summary: Dennis and Jim's home was absolutely lovely. I couldn't have asked for a better view. Breakfast was wonderful every morning. Jim and Dennis were happy to share their knowledge of the area and make suggestions about what to do during the off season. One thing to note about the 2nd floor suite - the living area is lofted so if others are downstairs you will hear them. Not an issue if you are out and about but just something you should know.

Summary: The setting of the house is beautiful along the river. I wish we had more time to enjoy the yard and gardens but there was so much to do in nearby Saugatuck, Douglas, Fennville, and Holland since the location is central to all these areas. Our suite and the 2nd floor were relaxing and very clean. Jim and Dennis are superb hosts and breakfast every morning was like eating at a 5 star restaurant-chef’s kiss! We’ll be back!

Summary: This home has a unique combination of a quiet setting while being very close to area restaurants, activities. The beautiful views right on the Kalamazoo River are a constant reminder that you're on vacation. Dennis and Jim are very welcoming while giving privacy. The bedroom, bath and living area of the suite were well furnished, clean, and comfortable; being part of a beautiful home filled with art. Breakfasts are exceptional in taste and presentation to start the day; also a way to converse with other guests. We plan to return.

Summary: Dennis and Jim are absolutely incredible hosts and the property was amazing. Our room was well furnished (lovely art all over the home), bed was very comfortable, and shower pressure was perfect. In addition to the common areas, Eric and I really enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and Eric especially loved the dock and subsequent fish he caught. Dennis and Jim gave us the best recommendations for exploring the area and for restaurants, I highly recommend taking their referrals. In addition to being wonderful hosts, we had great conversation with them and the other guests during the gourmet breakfasts and wine/cheese times. We're looking forward to our return!
