Positive: Upon arrival we encountered ants but the owner quickly dealt with them. The owner was very helpful, he was very helpful in booking taxis and renting bicycles. The room is new. It’s safe for women and solo travel woman.

Negative: There are monkeys, be careful with the food. The owner does not have change when you pay cash.

Positive: Very homely feeling and stay. Nice residential area. Great local breakfast included. Prompt response to requests. Bikes at disposal (I didn't use them but it seemed like a great way to move around within and outside the ancient city). The rooms are purpose-built as cottages with veranda.

Negative: For me personally without own transport, the location was a bit far from the town (though it's actually just next to the mid-section so that is great however exit only, to get the tickets one needs to go all the way back to the main road/enty ancient city) so TukTuk (arrangement) required. Aircon charge is high - fan sufficient, though.

Positive: The hosts are very kind, and the food is delicious. I only stayed for one night, but we had a great conversation with the owner, who speaks many languages. It was truly enjoyable to chat… The location is very close to an exit from the temple tourist area. However, the entrance is a bit farther, near the archaeology museum. Easily accessible by bike or tuk-tuk.

Summary: Nice place in Polonnaruva. Great location !

Positive: Loved the location of the hotel which was at one of the entrances to the ancient city. The owner, along with his family made our stay truly comfortable and safe, taking care of all our needs, giving helpful tips about the area, and sometimes even arranging transport. Can 100% recommend this place!
