Positive: A lovely family running this homestay, they made us feel right at home and were incredibly friendly, even kindly dropped us off at the railway station on our departure. The room is exactly as described, very clean. The location is perfect for visiting the ancient city. We rented bikes too for 1000LKR each and had a gorgeous curry and rice one evening for 1500LKR each. Would 100% recommend if you're visiting Polonnaruwa.

Positive: Aruna Homestay was a wonderful place to spend a few days. The host Aruna goes the extra mile with guests. He collected me from the train station (4km away), rented me a bicycle, arranged washing of clothes and was constantly offering tea, juice, snacks etc. He helped me arrange a safari to the Eco Park and drove me to my next destination. The house is homely and the bedroom has an en suite bathroom. You are treated like one of the family. The property is walking distance to the old town shops and cafes.

Positive: Aruna speaks excellent English and is very open and welcoming, making conversation easy and enjoyable. He and his wife answered all of our questions thoughtfully. We shared a lovely home-cooked dinner and had wide-ranging conversations about politics, culture, activities, and work, filled with plenty of laughter and even some Sinhalese words. Guest have their own floor with enough privacy and Aruna can help arranging and/or explaining everything about the Ancient City or a safari.

Negative: We felt very welcome and comfortable. Nothing to not like!

Positive: We received a warm welcome and excellent support in planning our three-night stay. Thank you for the assistance, especially with the laundry and the bicycles we were able to borrow, which allowed us to explore polonnaruwa. The safari recommendation was also very helpful. Breakfast was fresh and delicious every day.

Positive: Whatever I say will not express the feelings of gratitude and love for this wonderful family I have now made my own family. The home is super clean ,has hot water for shower and funs in every room ,the beds are super comfortable, The lovely lady of the house cooks delicious and delightful meals if you wish without pushing in better prices than any restaurant in the area, The love that this family has given us I will cherish until the end of my life , Mr. Aruna is a wonderful father and husband and he is a safe professional driver not only in polonaruwa but all Sri Lanka ,thank you dear friend for sharing your time with us driving us around polonaruwa. The people in polonaruwa are kinder than other Sri Lanka people in more touristic villages like sigiria The masser in polonaruwa is a magician,Mr Aruna can give you his number

Positive: Very nice homestay in Polonnaruwa with a Great local breakfast. We had an AC Room which was very modern and extremely clean. Very affordable accomodation. The Host Aruna is so awesome and welcoming. He offered us bike rental for exploring the ancient City. Very Special Person and a nice Place to stay

Positive: Its very clean and modern. The mattress is comfortable and the provide linen blankets ( or similar fabric) which feels really good on the skin. The owners are welcome and kind and helpful! There is a kitchen and a balcony aswell so you will have everything you need!

Negative: Keep in mind that there is no air conditioning so you will sweat a lot. A nap during the day is not possible, and at night watch the moskitos!
