Negative: Pile of timber on beach 1, looked messy Had an early morning flight, organised a bag pick up from room at 5.45 am. No one came to collect it, had to carry it all ourselves, quite a distance from our room

Negative: A bit tired in the accommodation and could do with a face lift. The cafe staff need to be more customer focused. We arrived 5 minutes after they finished serving food and we're not willing to do anything and we had to drive 30 minutes to petrol station to get something to eat.

Positive: The location is fantastic. We had Probiscus monkeys outside our treehouse balcony and a perfect view of the sea. There are well maintained hikes that start within the resort (the waterfall hike was ideal, a reasonable challenge, two hours and saw plenty of flora and fauna). We visited during low season, which suited us perfectly as it wasn't busy at all. We kayaked around the local waters which provides a great view of Mt. Santubong and the surrounding jungle. We also organised a trip to Bako National Park (was not available through the resort, search for AJ Borneo Tours). Air-con in the room was great, mosquito nets on every window and door.
Negative: As a vegetarian there wasn't an amazing amount of choice in the cafe/restaurant. Vegetarian option for the most part is to simply take the meat out. Adding tofu as a listed alternative to dishes could help, or just providing more options. There are a few restaurants within walking distance also.

Positive: Loved the surrounding environment. Every morning we step out of the treehouse to see an amazing view of the rainforest. Our breakfasts were accompanied by many squirrels and monkeys. We found two incredibly beautiful keeled pit vipers in the wild, a female and a male in separate locations. The hikes through the forest and the waterfall were the best parts of the trip.
Negative: The treehouse we were first given had a termite problem and the bed was covered with their droppings. We’re thankful that the staff provided another treehouse as replacement. We didn’t mind whatever else that came with being in a rainforest treehouse, like having a huntsman spider or lizards in the room for company.
Summary: We had the most amazing time there. It was tranquil, and it was exactly the escapade we very much needed.

Positive: The view from our treehouse was outstanding. Being fully immersed in nature.
Negative: The feeding tree café service was incredibly slow and the options weren’t particularly healthy. It would have been nice to have some non fried /greasy options.

Positive: Epic location and they’ve kept the surroundings as natural as possible so they can blend into the rainforest. Staff friendly and helpful.
Negative: Toilet in the cabin was very smelly, but I didn’t complain directly/give them an opportunity to rectify, so won’t hold this against them.
Summary: It rains a lot in the rainforest, no surprises there, but what a great spot!

Positive: The design style of the house is quite interesting. It faces the sea, but the view is partially blocked by trees, so it’s not very direct. Still, it feels quite nice overall.
Negative: Our room is located quite far from the café, so we’ll need to plan our activities carefully to avoid walking back and forth too many times. The Western food wasn’t good and wasn’t worth the money.
