Positive: The design of the property inside is very neat. The location is good, near to Bakewell and Buxton. Lovely walks from the village. Quiet location. Lovely bathroom, comfortable bed and bedding. Lovely lighting and decor. Excellent how dog friendly it was! Great coffee machine. A couple if starter pods would be great. Friendly host.

Negative: The property was not private. Seeing the neighbouring backdoor from the bedroom was very intrusive. Suggest to screen the property from the main house to provide privacy. Essentials like salt, cooking oil, papertowel and a scourer would have been appreciated and increased the score. Patio and garden were untidy. A quick/regular clean would round off the overall look. Cobwebs and poor quality oven dishes (pots and pans) were noticeable. Dishes weren't spotless. Information folder absent.

Summary: Needs extra touches for the price.

Positive: A peaceful location, just 5 minutes drive from Bakewell, and a friendly pub with food and stunning views within 10 minutes walk. The Old Forge has a well equipped kitchen area and good shower. Special mention to Joe who gave a warm welcome and happy to answer any questions about the local area. We look forward to visiting again.

Negative: A bit of a pain watch to TV via internet, but we are not of that generation & it was not really an issue.

Positive: Great location, accommodation well appointed with loverly decor

Negative: No facilities for wet clothing when arriving back from country walks. Few basics needs in kitchen/bathroom area i.e. kitchen cling film and foil plus basic cleaning equipment to cover cleaning wet areas when coming in from walks over hills in poor weather etc. Also electric heated towel rail in bathroom rather than having to put full central heating system. Had to fully defrost freezer on arrival as it was unusable plus no cleaning equipment to clean up wet floor after defrosting freezer. Being a dog friendly cottage would benefit from gates being fitted around outside area to stop dog from roaming into private areas. No hair dryer. Guest book would also be beneficial.

Positive: Great location, lovely facilities, very clean and comfortable. Had a couple of questions upon arrival (things like locating the outside bins) and host was very responsive and friendly. We'd happily stay here again - our dog loved it too!

Negative: Nothing we disliked. A little sheet with a guide to the property (contact number, where to find bins, adjust thermostat etc and maybe some local eat out recommendations) would have been nice but not by any means essential. We had a fantastic time.

Positive: This is a very beautiful, well presented and very pleasant place to stay, very quiet right in a beautiful location with fantastic scenery. The bed was very comfortable and the layout brilliant. Ideal for dog walks.

Negative: It just seemed to lack that woman's touch. Dishwasher but not tablets, just very minor things which would crown a beautiful, fantastic place to stay. I would have no issues to recommend to anyone and everyone.
