Positive: Edie the owner is very nice and accommodating. He arranged everything including transportation and tours for us for a very reasonable price. The guesthouse is very spacious and new and clean, with AC and hot water shower. So nice to have a hot shower after the jungle trip. The bed is very comfortable. The unit also comes with a very nice big balcony where there's a set of table and chairs, with great view of the mountains. I also want to mention our jungle guides Celvin and Ilal, very young and nice boys. Took good care of us in the jungle, and served us great fruits and dinner in the wild. Overall we were very happy with our experience here, and wished we could stay longer.
Negative: Would be nice if the shower is separate from the toilet and sink, but it's hard to come by in bukit lawang.

Positive: I really enjoyed staying at Jungle Edie. It’s a small guesthouse (next to Sumatra Thomas Leaf Guesthouse on google maps), located away from the noise of the main strip but only 10 minutes walk from everything. The room was quiet, spacious and clean with its own patio. The aircon was most welcome. Edie and his team are super friendly and helpful. I booked my trek with them and also a car to and from Bukit Lawang, all at reasonable prices. Celvin was a great guide and safe driver.. Their restaurant/bar should be open by end Feb 26, but the next door guesthouse is great place for breakfast and drinks in the meantime.

Positive: Edie is so friendly and helpful, and his English is good, which helps. The guesthouse is new and they are building the restaurant area as I write this. The garden is pretty, and it’s good to have a covered seating area to sit out under cover. The location is excellent, high up in the town, the water is fresh off the mountain and cleaner than many places. It’s a short way up a bumpy lane but very quiet. There’s a great local cafe for breakfast at the crossroads just at the bottom of the lane, with very tasty Lontong and Nasi Gurih. The room is very clean, and the bed is very comfortable. To get good AC at this price is exceptional. I’ve stayed in Bukit Lawang before in a few places and this is the best by far. I found bungalows unbearably noisy when it rains (which it does quite often!), but this is very quiet at night. I was going to move on after 3 days but have extended my stay.
Negative: Not much. There’s no hot water but the water is refreshing in this heat anyway. If you can live with the unconventional tile pattern you’ll be fine. It’s a shame the restaurant isn’t finished yet.
Summary: Cheapest and best room with AC in town!
