Positive: The lodge is on a beautiful location. Don't stay in the simple camping site if you do trekking, do yourself a favour and stay here. Beautiful view, good and tasty food, friendly and helpful people.

Positive: I was picked up right at the bus station and could decide whether to stay overnight in the village or head straight to the Jungle Lodge despite the rain. My large backpack stayed safely in the village while I hiked to the lodge with my guide and light luggage. The accommodation was great: I had the upper floor of a hut with a spectacular view. No electricity, no WiFi - just candlelight and the jungle. Perfect for unwinding. Since I was the only guest at the lodge that day, I got a private jungle tour with Rifan - at no extra charge! I paid €120 for the 2D1N tour (apparently the standard price). On the first day, we spent about seven hours in the jungle—with breaks, picnics, a swim stop, and plenty of time for wildlife viewing. I was extremely lucky: eight orangutans (including a baby), various species of monkeys, squirrels, butterflies, huge trees, impressive scenery—and, of course, other tourists. Rifan was a great guide: he answered all my questions, made jokes, was patient, and clearly enjoyed his work. On the second day, after breakfast, we headed back to the village by tire rafting—relaxed and with a few fun rapids. No adrenaline rush, but definitely fun! Like many others, I could have slept in a canvas hut by the stream, but I opted for the comfort and fantastic views offered by the lodge. A real highlight: I was able to watch hornbills and even orangutans on the neighboring mountain right from my room – simply amazing! Little tip: keep an eye on your snacks – the monkeys can be a bit cheeky in the lodge! Vegetarian food was no problem – always delicious and plentiful. A spontaneous scooter trip to the Titan Arum flower was also organized. The price for the scooter was higher than elsewhere in Indonesia, but they were accommodating. I felt well looked after and welcome. It was an unforgettable experience filled with nature, adventure and warmth – I can highly recommend it! Thank you for everything!

Positive: Situated in the heart of nature you can easily see animals from the morning till the twilight. Very helpful staff is making a great effort to satisfy the needs of the visitors.

Negative: If you book a two day tour you can easily end up having one day tour and a one hour long rafting on the river on the next day. Clarifying the food preparation for the tour is also necessary.

Positive: Had an amazing time at lovely jungle lodge, Balu and his son Rifan will really look after you. The location of the lodge was great, away from the busy village and surrounded by the peaceful jungle. The best is falling asleep to the jungle sounds and being able to watch wild monkeys from the wooden huts. There's no electricity so make sure to charge all your devices beforehand. Highly recommend.

Positive: I loved the stay in a hut so close to the nature, surrounded by quiet forest, stunning view and sound of river. Huts are simple, no electricity, which I liked. Owner took care of meals which were amazing. Also the trip to the jungle was very well organized with fruit snack and lunch. Huts are located on a hill to which lead a steep path but it is only 5 minutes hike. Alltogether maybe 30 minutes of walk from the village. You can leave your heavy stuff with owner and take only necessary things with you. During breakfast time expect visit of monkeys.

Positive: If you're going to spend the time and money to travel to Bukit Lawang, then you're a nature lover, so this accommodation is exactly what will provide!! The view and the sound of nature is like nothing else ! You will also do trekking with them, and you won't be disappointed. You will be greeted by monkeys in the morning

Negative: That we only stayed 1 night! I would say a min of 2 nights is perfect and don’t worry about the luggage as you will leave it with them in the village!
