A beautiful secluded tranquil paradise on the sea with stunning views
of mountains and islands.
Nisi (the island in Greek), is truly a unique and beautiful place to stay.
The small stone cottage, located on a ledge some 60 ft above the sea ,was built in the 1970's by Justin and Ursula Behrens..Their lives and the building of the cottage are described in the romantic tragedy entitled
" The Monument " by T. Behrens '
Millions of years ago the one hectare peninsula and its surroundings were subjected to extreme forces of nature
resulting in a near vertical rock strata of basalt and quartz which today shapes the gardens and paths as well as the seabed.
The cottage, although remote, boasts modern facilities including mains electricity and water, tv, internet and air conditioning.
Nisi is all about living by the sea with its ever changing moods, crystal clear water and amazing underwater scenery of valleys and ridges.
Occasionally a school of dolphins parade across the bay and on several occasions a lonesome male monk seal has brought chaos to the fisherman's nets.
The mysterious island of Skopa is situated a few hundred yards across the water.
The entrance to the property is from a parking area just off a hard surface road. There are two ways down to the house.
Firstly, a foot path which is a little steep and rocky in places but easily manageable. It is a 10 minute walk and takes in stunning views of mountains to the left and right with a sea vista of (on a clear day) the island of Kythera over 40 km away. The second way is a rough track a kilometre in length which starts just to the West of the car parking area through the sheep farm. Using this track the Kawasaki Mule 4WD (available for the use of the guests) or any small 4WD vehicle can carry people and goods between the car parking place and the house.

Summary: Nisi is wonderful, absolutely peaceful and right by the beautiful sea. A 20-minute stroll takes you down to Chalikia with two lovely beach tavernas.

Summary: the object is in an absolute unique and extraordinary spot. in between pure nature you have your own and lonely entrance to the sea. all you need is in the house and the garden is full of spots to sit, watch, enjoy and relax. can't think about a better place to take a rest. once in a life you need to discover this.

Summary: If you are looking for a place where to get your mind right, this is the place. Gorgeous nature and endless sky, the deep voice of the Aegean, small secret singing birds and cicadas are the soundtrack of this retreat on the cliff edge. The rest of the world is very far away, small and insignificant. The house itself is a delightful treatment: every detail is at the right place and whatever you need is at your fingertips. It is absolutely fantastic, one of the best place I have ever been

Summary: It was a dream holiday. Totally quiet, a fantastic sea view. The house is completely and lovingly furnished. Like the garden around the house, just great. Summary: We had a lovely stay in this beautiful and quite remote clifftop cottage. The house is comfy and feels loved and lived-in, and is well equipped. The garden is wonderful - we kept discovering new paths through the plants or down to the beach, and it was great to swim in transparent sea from our own bridge. We enjoyed reading 'The Monument' to get the dramatic story of the cottage, but also felt the more tranquil presence of Christopher and Riri Howse who lived here for many years. This is a perfect place for a getaway holiday - incredibly beautiful at all times of day. We enjoyed driving 'the Mule' to get to the main road, and found interesting places to walk and swim locally, although this does not feel like a tourist area. The history of The Mani is interesting. Anne and Amos were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Summary: A great spot to unwind, get away from it all for some peace and serenity, go snorkeling every early morning in crystal clear waters, with abundance of fish (beautiful garfish) and amazing surroundings, enjoy scenic drives, find deserted sandy beaches and taste local food. The house had everything we were looking for, with comfortable and homely atmosphere. Anne and Amos are wonderful people. We will definitely be coming back next June! Monika & Wlodek
