Positive: It was very zen and clean and modern. The restaurant was great and offered a super interesting cuisine. Cool art light exhibit in the rock garden

Negative: The in room bath was super small. It needed to be 2-3 feet wider and longer. There was no space in the hotel to relax or have a cocktail. The lobby felt like a transitional space so it missed the ability to function as a lounge. They made a fire pit which would be great but shut it down at 9pm so with dinner, there was no way to use it.

Summary: A clean modern spot to enjoy artwork exhibits but lacks a sense of home and comfort.

Positive: The attention to detail at Roka made the stay very comfortable and convenient. The rooms are so spacious and gorgeous, of course the private onsen was the highlight. It’s very peaceful and I didn’t hear my neighbours. I’d recommend two nights as it’s the best stay in all of Japan for sure. The staff are all so friendly and helpful.
