Positive: It is close to Monarch mountain and affordable. Our room had a nice view.

Negative: Property needs to be updated badly. There is no sign on the property or highway so we drove past it since we didn’t have a signal, so we couldn’t use our GPS, and the hotel does not match the picture on Booking.com. The room we stayed in was so hot! There are no fans or AC, just radiator heat so we had to sleep with the windows open. There is also a side door in the stairwell that leads to the parking lot and doesn’t have a lock on it so anyone can go in and out, which does not seem safe, however, there are security cameras. The bathtub in our room drained so slowly that the shower I took was more like a bath- which explained why our shower curtain was dirty and had dead skin on the bottom of it previous to us showering. We did not want to shower in it but had been snowboarding all day so we needed to. We were supposed to stay two nights but we checked out early because we both slept so poorly there the one night.

Positive: Looked like the lodge was in need of some updating. I know it was built in the 70’s and I dont think they have done anything to it since .

Positive: We stayed here 46 years ago on our honeymoon. Staff was great and food was exceptional. Carpet was good but place could use some updates. However, was happy it was still there!

Positive: Obviously the skiing was great. The room did its job. We just wanted a place to crash so we didn't have to drive back down the mountain and max out our time on the slopes.

Negative: The hotel was understaffed. I think the maintenance man checked us in after some awkward back and forth with the janitor.

Summary: If I were to recommend it to a friend I'd say the hotel is so-so, but the proximity is worth it.
