Summary: A bit dated property. Very small shower with the shower head to loose to hold its position. The shower doors often coming out of its railings. Air conditioning not working. WiFi internet extremely slow 4-7Mbps so nearly unusable. Curtains a bit broken, unable to get the room dark. Probably won’t stay here again. However, some of the staff (not the managers or supervisors, but lower rank employees) were very friendly and helpful!

Summary: Very good stay, was there on business but got full use of the restaurant, bar, gym and pool. The restaurant was spot on with delicious fresh food. The gym is a good size but was busy, but it was 6pm. The pool is perfect and has a full selection of stream room and sauna. The room itself was a great size and full of all the amenities needed including free of charge bottled water. The bed was very comfortable and I haven't slept so well in a hotel in a long time. Breakfast had a good selection but maybe the quality of produce was lacking compared to the evening selection.

Summary: It's a good location right next to the river. The hotel has access to a small lap pool, jacuzzi and gym in the building. The lobby and bar is nice. The room itself was a good size but a bit dated and slightly odd smell but not horrible.

Summary: Hotel was in a good location. Not down in the middle of the city, so quieter, but a short (10ish minute) walk to anything you would need. The front desk guy ok. Not super helpful, but got us checked in. The smell in the lobby is strong and doesnt smell good. But the smell was confined to the lobby. Room was spacious, clean, and quiet. There was a show at castle nearby we could see and hear from our room which was nice. (Concert was quiet by 10) overall, hotel was fine and i would stay again if i was visiting the area.

Summary: The Strand is a very good example of understated competence. Mirroring the swans on the Shannon directly outside, you know a lot of skill and care must go in to keeping such a large and popular hotel "afloat" but to the observer, it seems so smooth and simple. Rooms are equipped for comfort and ease: there's storage so you can tidy your things away, and how guests would use the space is anticipated, including conveniently placed mirrors and a TV you can cast to from your own device. In short, The Strand is set up around the guests' requirements, and a stay there is truly comforting.
