Casa da Palmeira is located in the center of the village of Budens. It is a traditional architecture house, which combines Algarvean and Arab influences, designed by architect José Alberto Alegria, a specialist in earthen architecture.
Extremely spacious, the house is ideal for groups: it has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a 60 m2 living room, a dining room and kitchen, and generous circulation areas. Outside, in addition to the garden and swimming pool, guests have access to a large patio with a lounge and barbecue area, in the tradition of Mediterranean architecture, as well as two balconies overlooking the village and the valley.
Just a few kilometers from Budens, our guests can choose beaches for families, such as Salema beach, beaches for surfing and other water sports, such as the fantastic beaches on the West Coast (Tonel, Amado,...) or even the almost deserted and protected beaches of the Costa Vicentina Natural Park (Boca do Rio, Zavial,Castelejo,...).
In addition to walks through this typical village in Western Algarve, the great hiking routes that cross the Algarve pass a short distance from Budens - the "Via Algarviana" and the "Rota Vicentina", a major attraction for those who visit us.
The municipality of Vila do Bispo, to which Budens belongs, also has a diverse historical heritage, from the megalithic era to Roman civilization, as well as a set of military and religious buildings from the 15th and 16th centuries, the golden period of the Portuguese Expansion.

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay as a group of twelve people. The large kitchen with great equipment is a highlight! The house leaves enough space to enjoy days and evenings together, but also offers some quiet places.

Summary: Thirteen friends on a early summer holiday to Portugal, what an experience. The villa is situated in the heart of Budens, easily accessible from Faro airport (<1 hour drive). There are many lovely beaches on the south and west coast, and Lagos or Sagres are no more than 20onutes drive away. We had some great hikes, runs, beach days, pool days and BBQs and would recommend the villa to anyone. The hosts were fantastic, timely in replying and had some great food recommendations. We will be coming to stay again!

Summary: The house is a very comfortable space for a large group of people. There were 11 people in our group. The kitchen and the outdoor grill were perfect for our needs and of course the pool was fantastic! It is fairly close to some really lovely beaches. It would be nice to have basic supplies when one arrives. Such as dish washing liquid,dishwasher detergent, bathroom hand soap, paper towels and spray cleaner for the counters. It would be nice to have 1-2 beach umbrellas and a few beach chairs and a cooler. We bought all that and left them at the house for others to enjoy. When you have a large group it is not feasible (money wise) to rent beach loungers every day. I hope this doesn’t prevent anyone from staying here, it just needs a little tweaking!

Summary: Lovely villa, huge and spacious, had everything we needed. Local area (Budens) a bit run down. Two lovely local restaurants (O’Tiago’s and Pizza D’Aldeia), but told everything else that was shown on our phone maps had closed over the previous 2-3 years. Outstanding beaches up and down the coast from 5 mins drive away. Overall had a fantastic stay.
