Negative: The prices were quite high on the drinks. Fine for people paying in Forex, not nice for locals

Positive: I have stayed at this lodge at least 20 times, and it remarkably just keeps getting better. A major highlight of this property is the exceptional staff. I want to give a massive shout-out to Kagiso, who is hugely professional and supportive. She has a talent for making you feel 100% at home while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and outstading service. Can’t wait for stay number 21!

Positive: From the shuttle service, to the staff, to the room, facilities, the safari's and the food - simply superb. The best part throughout, was the amazing staff. The little hot pool, the airconditioned room and lounge, the tea, the wake up calls... all were fabulous. And did I mention the staff?
Negative: Nothing. Zilch. Nada. Niks.
Summary: Unforgettable, peaceful, brilliantly catered, and the staff.... oh my,... the staff....was the best.

Positive: Our family of 4 stayed at Ivory Tree for 2 nights and it was a great experience for usnand the kids in terms of accommodation, food and safari game drives. The lodge was spacious and well maintained. We enjoyed the dipping pool in our lodge in between game drives. The food variety was broad, with menus changing everyday. Service staff were friendly and helpful. There was also an africa drum session at dinner on our first night where diners are invited to participate, which was entertaining and fun. We loved the safari game drives which were well spaced - there was one in the early morning and an evening one, leaving you half a day to enjoy other activities. Our guide Syabonga was great at spotting animals and also gave us good information about the plants around.
Negative: The only downside was the shower area which was outdoor, and exposed you to weather elements during your shower.

Positive: We are South Africans and have had hundreds of African bush experiences over the past 50 years. These range from self-drive and camping to super-luxury fly-in safaris. For people with limited time, Ivory Tree Lodge provides an excellent all-inclusive luxury option at a reasonable price.
Negative: For our first two game drives, our guide was a temp and not as knowledgeable as he could be – (perhaps we know too much). Our guide for the next two drives was a lot more experienced. He provided a good level of information without being overbearing. We understand that overseas visitors would like to see the Big Five, and the guides do their best to address this need in a short time, but sometimes this leads to paying too little attention to the smaller things.
Summary: Highly recommended.
