Positive: This hotel is the perfect place to stay in Munich. Location was fabulous and I was able to explore everything by foot. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. I felt very welcome here and want to give a specific mention to the staff at the breakfast restaurant, they were exceptional and I really appreciated the kindness. I would love to stay here again.

Negative: Only thing would be a kettle in the room.

Positive: If you’re going for Christmas markets, the location is superb. It’s literally a few hundred yards from both the main market square and the main train network. Plenty of bars, restaurants and a supermarket directly across the street made eating and drinking choices easy. There’s a 23hr McDonalds right next door and I can imagine if your room was at the front of the hotel on the lower floors, it could be a little noisy late at night. We were at the front on a top floor and could hear the buzz of noise from the street below, but it was distant and didn’t disturb our sleep. There’s also a complimentary basket of pastries on the entrance table and a tiered biscuit plate at reception - both replenished each day. I took great joy from stopping each morning on the way to breakfast to use the free shoe polishing machine too! We experienced a swift and surprisingly early check in by exceptionally friendly staff. The room was snug but warm and clean. Two single beds together and up against the wall so rock, paper, scissors for the side you can get out of without shuffling down the bed. The bed itself was a little on the firm side and the pillows lacked oomph, but all were wrapped in clean, crisp, white bedding. USB plugs were great for phone charging. Complimentary use of a safe was a nice touch. Compact open style hanging space with plenty of hooks for hanging coats made it easy to unpack - anything longer than a couple of nights and you may struggle to find a place for your clothes other than the suitcase. The compact bathroom again was immaculately clean and came equipped with a magnifying mirror (great if you wear glasses and need to apply some makeup), the standard hotel hairdryer (hold your finger on the button constantly to activate) and complimentary body wash & shower cap. The towels were a bit on the thin side and not what you’d call fluffy. But they were clean, changed each day and did the job.

Negative: Not really a lot. This hotel is certainly at the top of the 3 star range and probably sits here as it doesn’t offer an array of facilities. Would I recommend? Yes. Would I stay here again? Yes - I just might bring my own pillow, a travel kettle and my beloved English tea!

Negative: There was an awful sewage smell in the bathroom (room #403)! I reported the issue to the staff at the check out. They said that they would be looking into this problem right away.

Positive: The property location is superb, only a few minutes from Marienplatz station and easy to spot. What I also like is breakfast, with a variety of fresh & tasty dishes.

Negative: Not all the staff at the reception were friendly, ignoring my greetings…
