Positive: The staff were lovely and very helpful. Even though he didn't have to, the manager gave us a ride from the train station as we had missed every shuttle bus (train troubles). The toom we had also had a perfect view of the ski slope and was right next to the lift.

Positive: Staff amazingly friendly, went above and beyond to help my wife and I get setup with our room, board and rental gear. Food was great, always fresh and good variety. Room was clean, comfy and cosy. Location to the Ski Resort was a 1 minute walk. The hotel owner and reception staff were the nicest. Was always a joy walking downstairs to be greeted with smiles and laughter.
Negative: No dislikes, perfect stay.

Positive: The staff at Ryuo made this stay for us. The reception team were so helpful despite our lack of Japanese, they really made an effort to help us. They were very happy to book taxis, local restaurants (PNM is really good) and even took us and picked us up after. It was above and beyond. The breakfast canteen was Japanese food only when we were there but you can order extra fruit and other bits at cost - and such helpful happy staff all round. We didn’t eat dinner at the hotel. The snow gear room was functional and secure - they offer rental gear but is a little dated (we rented form Spicy). Loved that the ski lift was 50m away :)
Negative: We were 3 adults in a traditional room - futon style beds on tatami flooring - worked absolutely fine for us. We used the Onsen daily - note the room does not have a shower (only toilet and basin) so the Onsen was the only place to wash - fine for us but be aware.
Summary: Very friendly, excellent service and great value.

Positive: the food was good 'cafateria' style appropriate to the mainly student patronage, but not memorable in any way. the staff tried really hard to respond to my needs despite the language and cultural gap. the place is well located on the snow line making chairlift access v easy.
Negative: they werent really set up for international visitors and i was the only non japanese most of the time. english conversation was mainly through 3 word sentances, sign language and translation app in the online info there was no mention that the place was primarily booked by university students.

Positive: Gear hire was simple and easy, and the quality for the price was exceptional. Staff were extremely friendly.
Negative: The futon beds aren't great for recovering body soreness after snowboarding. Pillows were quite hard but that is the norm in Japan.
