Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The rooms are decorated beautifully and the view from the window is outstanding. Beds are very comfy and warm. There's breakfast included and Jose is very helpful in anything that you need. There's also a lovely yoga area but if you ask nicely, you can take the mats outside and do yoga with a great view.

Negative: Some showers are electric, so it's not easy to get hot water and the bathroom window doesn't have a curtain. Also, it is a bit of a trek to get there, but still completely worth it.

Positive: Once you make the arduous trek almost all the way up to the top of the island you will be out of breath but will be rewarded with stunning views from every room here. Well worth the climb. It’s a large, family run hotel which has been extended multiple times including a roof top terrace and a meditation/ yoga room. Breakfast was served around eight and was delicious. Rooms are stunning with lots of attention to detail. Our hosts were lovely and always had time for a chat with us.

Negative: Now, the only downside is that there is no electricity from around 10pm until at least midday the next day which is when we left. That means no hot shower, no WiFi etc. It was actually quite liberating and we spent most of that time hiking and reading.

Summary: Stunning views, bit of a hike.
