Positive: Property was beautiful and our room was large and comfortable. There are beautiful gardens and a pool on the property. Everything was clean and tidy. Communications with staff at check-in was difficult as she didn’t speak English but we managed. Unfortunately we didn’t get information about the pool, where to go for breakfast, etc. Overall a good stay; cost was higher than our hotel in Evora the night previous.

Negative: Breakfast choices were limited for hot food - the hot food trays (scrambled eggs and bacon were almost empty; however, they quickly refilled the eggs but we were told there was no more bacon available for the day. There were cold meats, cheeses, breads, etc.

Positive: Location, Swimming pool and Breakfast were super nice. Very close to Monsaraz, Alqueva and the Observatorium.

Negative: The room was quite damp, and it needed nets in the windows so that we could air the room without getting mosquitos in. The water temperature in the shower was super hard to get right.

Negative: Bathroom and shower tiny, my husband who is over 2 meters had to wait until we got home to shower and my daughter’s shower did not drain. Coffee maker did not work

Positive: Located in an idyllic spot near the old city of Monsaraz, Horta Da Coutada’s grounds and surroundings are absolutely beautiful. Felt very much connected to nature, it was magical to look at the stars at night. Cosy rooms, kitchenette, wonderful staff! Patrizio made us feel very much welcome and at home! Generous breakfast spread.

Negative: No water in the room, no coffee or tea in the room, if you want to have dinner at the hotel you need to let them know before 14h00. Not enough soap 8n the bathroom only enough for 1 person and we were 2 people, empty minibar fridge just sitting on the floor in a corner of the room, this should be in a. Cupboard or at least leften 9n a stand and not sitting on the floor.

Positive: Wonderfully warm people. Spotless room with super comfortable bed. Peaceful location. Parking onsite was great as we had bikes etc.

Negative: We recognise it was out if season, but the communal area felt closed. Beautiful fireplace without a welcoming fire. Far too much food and variety on offer at breakfast whilst the hot eggs were cold. Random refreshments in the room.
