Positive: This was such a lovely little spot for my overnight stay during a work trip. Communication was excellent, the location was perfect, and the facility was absolutely pristine in terms of cleanliness. Everything I needed for a comfortable stay was there. So beautifully quaint, convenient, and welcoming.

Negative: For my needs, there was nothing I could fault.

Positive: Dee really is the hostess with the mostest. She’s honestly thought of everything – even little touches like takeaway cups for coffee which I thought was such a nice idea. The unit itself is really quaint, and when I first walked in the smell of freshly baked bread hit me. Straight away it just felt warm and homely. The wifi was excellent which made it easy for me to catch up on some work. Even though the main highway into Matamata is right outside, I still slept really well with no traffic noise keeping me awake. Location-wise it’s spot on – close to shops, restaurants, and you’re literally just down the road from Hobbiton and plenty of other fun activities. Honestly it’s the best of both worlds… a peaceful, quiet place to rest, but right on the doorstep of so many things to do. Dee and Rick are such lovely hosts. They’re available if you need anything, but to be honest they’ve thought of so much already that you probably won’t. I’d definitely recommend this little unit, and if you’re after something bigger for family or friends, they’ve also got a three-bedroom house you can rent. Such a great find!
