Positive: We received a warm greeting on arrival and we could see that all the staff as well as the owners feel valued and invested in the success of the business which was great to experience. We were given a newly refurbished bedroom which was lovely with great attention to detail - including a built-in electric toothbrush charger- which we'd not seen before. Excellent bar food ( a cut above the norm) and an amazing generous breakfast with lots of choices. The hotel looks out on open fields so it's a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast. In the same room they offer a Tasting menu which we didn't try but I suspect it's excellent. We met one of the chefs and you could tell he loves his job. Also, they are super dog friendly, which suited our pampered baby very well!

Positive: Food in both the restaurant in the evening and for breakfast was exceptional

Negative: Stayed in the lodge and unfortunately couldn’t work out how to turn underfloor heating up. Not a big problem.

Summary: Lovely pub with great atmosphere and food.
