Durango, Colorado holds the beauty of a vanished world. It is the most tranquil place mixed with history, recreation, and unerasable memories. Our 2600+ square foot custom home on 20 acres is nestled in the mountains overlooking beautiful Lake Purgatory. The brilliance of Engineer and Spud Mountain can be seen to the North, and to the East the Animas River which flows through the La Plata Mountains.
The home was created by the hands of a master with each window intricately creating a new view of the lake. Giant doors lead you onto a deck where you'll find a hot tub that you can soak in after your daily activities. At night the sky is so black, you'll feel like you're sitting under an umbrella of stars. The night is so peaceful you can hear the fish in the water. You'll be located at an elevation of 9000 feet somewhere in the vicinity of the gods. The interior is very comfortable with all luxurious amenities that will connect you back to the real world. Now that you've found the perfect place to visit, look no further for a place to stay.
You can walk out and fish for rainbow, brook and brown trout in the backyard. We have a boat you can take out to fish the lake. Boat agreement provided. It is a private lake so you won't see many others. Fishing gear available, you must use catch and release hooks. Summer is the busy season in Durango, you can ride the train, hike, bike, bobsled at the ski area across the street, horseback riding, gold panning or rest and read a book. Summary: We loved our stay at this cabin! Lots of room to spread out and very close to Purgatory for skiing. This was our second stay here, and I’m a little sad that it is already fully booked in July or we would come back this summer. Thank you for another fantastic stay!

Summary: Our family had the best time… the views are incredible, and the house is so thoughtfully appointed! We really enjoyed spending time on the deck and soaking in the hot tub after skiing just across the way! We will definitely be back!

Summary: The house was bigger and better than we thought, very close to Purgatory ski resort less than 5 min from it, balcony with amazing lake view and Jacuzzi , I recommended 100% and I would like to use it again

Summary: This was our second stay at this beautiful home. We had such a blast playing in the snow and enjoying the views. The house is stocked with everything including extra blankets, pillows, towels, soap in the bathrooms, and fans. The kitchen has more than enough pans, utensils, and dishes. We’ve been to lots of vacation houses and this one continues to sit at the top of our list. Not to mention the host and caretaker are very easy to communicate with. We hope to be back for a third time!

Summary: There was a surplus of dishes, towels, and linens for our 3 family group! The property manager was helpful and available with any questions we had. He was willing to come over to help if needed. The house was clean, plenty big and the perfect location to get some time on the mountain without a long drive up & back. It was super convenient being 5 minutes from the parking lot & made it easy when we had people wanting to go back early. The view was awesome, can’t wait to come back during the summer sometime and see the view without all the snow!
