Summary: This was our second time staying at a Grand Velas resort—our first being at Riviera Maya—and once again, the experience was outstanding. The Riviera Nayarit location offered everything we expected from Grand Velas: top-notch service, immaculate rooms, excellent food, and a truly beautiful resort atmosphere. The concierge service was attentive, and room service and cleaning staff exceeded expectations. Compared to the Riviera Maya property, there were slightly fewer restaurant options, but the quality of the dining experiences remained very high. The only downside of our trip was the private Suburban round-trip transfer arranged through the resort, which cost $245 USD. The ride from the airport to the resort was excellent—the driver was friendly, professional, and offered the promised drinks. However, the return trip to the airport was a stark contrast. The driver was visibly irritated, swore while handling our luggage, didn’t offer any drinks, and was dismissive when tipped. He even laughed when I handed him a small tip, which was incredibly unprofessional and disappointing, especially considering the premium price paid for the service. Overall, our stay at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit was exceptional, and we would definitely return. Just be cautious when booking private transportation through the resort—it might not always match the resort’s high standards.
