Woodcutter's Cottage is part of a collection of 4 tastefully renovated holiday cottages which can be found in the pretty village of Buckland Newton.
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. The cottage over looks the stunning gardens and included in the stay is use of the shared heated outdoor pool (May to September).
The cottage has a good size lounge and dining room with comfy sofas set around a log burner. The kitchen has been thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities you would expect including a full-size fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and Nespresso Coffee Machine.
Upstairs all beds are made up with high quality white linen, non-feather pillows and duvets and super comfy mattresses for those lazy mornings in bed. The good size bathroom with bath is great for a long soak after a day’s exploring. Fluffy white bath and hand towels are provided. We do advise guests to bring an extra towel to use for the swimming pool.
Please be aware that there is a step down from the sitting/dining-room into the kitchen and from the kitchen to the outside patio. This cottage retains its original ‘Dorset winder’ staircase to the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom. This staircase is steeper and narrower than a modern staircase, so care must be taken and the cottage may not be suitable for some guests with more limited mobility.
From the kitchen door at the back of the cottage is your own private patio with table and chairs and bbq (bbq coal can be provided at a charge) overlooking and leading onto the gorgeous communal gardens.
Guests are encouraged to explore the beautiful and well stocked country garden; you’ll be sure to find a sunny spot or shady corner to relax with a book.
We can provide baby/toddler items; such as travel cot, highchair, booster seat, step, bedguard, etc. Just contact us to let us know should you require anything.
You can rent the cottages individually or take over more than one for a larger group booking. Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Woodcutters Cottage! It looked lovely prior to going however, it's a real gem when you are there. The cottage is finished to a high standard, is well equipped, and then you have this magical garden trail, games, and play area. The local pub at the bottom of the garden has a lot for families, mini golf courses, goats that you can feed , ping ping, play bus, and more. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a lovely time! x
