Casa Nestore is a traditional stone farmhouse set in the green valleys of Umbria, close to Umbria’s capital Perugia and Assisi. The smaller towns of Tavernelle, Marsciano, and Lake Trasimeno are just a short drive through the “Green Heart of Italy”.
Our vision at Casa Nestore was to restore an old farmhouse with apartments keeping the traditional Umbrian style but adding a modern touch to bathrooms and kitchens giving a classic feel to the property but with the functionality of modern living. We have achieved this by combing traditional local builders and craftsmen and with the help of top London architect, Ian Wylie, who also owns a traditional villa in Italy and has many years of experience in this field.
Casa Nestore is based around the original shape and style of the existing farmhouse and boasts outstanding views of the surrounding woods and farmland. Our aim is to provide a quality service now and in the future to all our visitors and to ensure that they enjoy a happy and peaceful stay.

Summary: This was our second stay at Casa Nestore Holiday Apartments and again we came away very happy (and relaxed). We stayed in the Fico apartment this time round, which is stunning. The whole apartment is very well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings throughout and feels very airy / cool with its traditional high vaulted ceilings. All of the rooms are spacious and have views of either the large pool area or stunning countryside, there are plenty of power / USB charge points to keep all those gadgets topped up. Outside of the apartment itself is a covered terrace with table and chairs which provided an escape from the sun and heat when we weren’t lapping it up by the pool! The location is excellent, just over 2 hours from Rome if flying in to Fiumicino. For those flying from the London area Stanstead flights arrive direct into Perugia which is only 30 mins away. Lots to see and do around the area with walks, mountain bike trails and lakes close by (not to mention the stunning Umbrian countryside). The village itself benefits from a really good local café / bar and a more recent addition in a new restaurant, both of which are very well priced and the staff are incredibly friendly. Nick, Mandi (along with their son Isaac) were again amazing hosts, they really welcome you in and make you feel at home. If you are stuck for ideas as to what to do, where to go they have excellent knowledge of the area and are more than happy to point you in the right direction. We’ll certainly be heading back to Casa Nestore Holiday Apartments again in the near future!

Summary: The apartment was impeccable, the pool is right outside the door, as is the relaxing sunbathing terrace. The surrounding area is what you'd expect from beautiful Italian countryside, peaceful, pretty towns and villages, and off the main tourist trail. Eating out is great value, and in our experience great quality, and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in close driving distance - from pizzas to more upmarket options. We've already recommended the place to friends.

Summary: Just had a week at Casa Nestore in the Fico apaertment. Very comfortable and spacious. Well appointed and with a superb pool to cool off in. Would definitely go again.

Summary: Casa Nestore is a wonderfully restored property with two new apartments for rent, all set in wonderful Umbrian countryside. We stayed in the two-bedroom Fico apartment with our two boys in August 2017. The apartment is modern, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with everything that you are likely to need. The fantastic pool is accessible from the Fico’s private terrace and the sun loungers provide an excellent opportunity to kick back and relax amongst the beautiful landscape surrounding Castiglione della Valle. Lake Trasimeno is only 15 mins drive from the apartment and offers a wide range of water sports and lakeside restaurants. Perugia, the main historic town in the region is 20km from the apartment and reachable by car or by using the fully automated monorail system. The countryside around the apartment offers beautiful, peaceful walks through woodland, fields and the local village of Castiglione. The friendly English owners (Nick and Mandy) are on site and are very helpful in providing advice and help if needed. A fantastic, relaxing stay - we would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a base to explore the beautiful Umbrian countryside.

Summary: We stayed at Casa Nestore at the end of July. Nick & Mandi were very accommodating to our needs, and even replaced one of the single beds with a travel cot for our youngest. We had a disaster with our rental car, which put our ETA back 2 hours, however they stayed up to greet us, and show us everything in the apartment (at 2am)! The breakfast basket is a lovely and very helpful trust, especially if you aren't arriving until late evening. The apartment is situated in a lovely location, and we found it easy to navigate around the village, to the local shops and bar. The welcome booklet provides a ton of information about places to visit, which made getting out and about much easier! We were blown away with our accommodation, beautifully spacious inside, and plenty of room outside for the children to play around the pool (and for me to sunbathe)! It includes a TV, and stacks of DVDs to watch. There was plenty of towels & bedding (not that we needed that in 39 degree heat)! & we were also provided with fans for the apartment. We had a lovely stress free stay, in a beautiful part of Italy.

Summary: Had a wonderful week in Casa nestore. The apartment is completely overwhelming and very clean. A lovely large swimming pool where our son is fine in has entertained. Fantastic owners, which give you the feeling of real holiday. A quiet area, excellent restaurants in the neighborhood. An absolute must.!!
