Casa Nestore is a traditional stone farmhouse set in the green valleys of Umbria, close to Umbria’s capital Perugia and Assisi. The smaller towns of Tavernelle, Marsciano and Lake Trasimeno are just a short drive through the “Green Heart of Italy”.
Our vision at Casa Nestore was to restore and an old farmhouse with apartments keeping the traditional Umbrian style but adding a slight modern touch to bathrooms and kitchens giving a classic feel to the property but with the functionality of modern living. We have achieved this by combing traditional local builders and craftsmen and with the help of top London architect, Ian Wylie, who also owns a traditional villa in Italy and has many years experience in this field.
Casa Nestore is based around the original shape and style of the existing farmhouse and boasts outstanding views of the surrounding woods and farmland. Our aim is to provide a quality service now and in the future to all our visitors and to ensure that they enjoy a happy and peaceful stay.

Summary: This property exceeded expectations. The location is stunning with excellent walking and cycling routes from the property. The apartment was cleaned to a high standard and the beds made. Towels were also provided as well as pool towels. The pool is a very good size and very clean. There are many places to visit nearby , including Lake Trasimeno which is also great for walking and cycling. The owners make you feel very welcome and offer suggestions for places to visit and where to eat. Thank you Nick and Mandi for a great holiday

Summary: We stayed at the stunning Casa Nestore in the Olivia apartment in late August 2018. It is without doubt one of the best equipped and maintained apartments we have stayed in. The cleanliness and attention to detail was very evident and we wanted for nothing. Outside there’s decent sized swimming pool, a lovely poolside area and table and chairs for alfresco dinning. It was lovely that the owners, Mandi and Nick had left breakfast croissants and a chilled bottle of wine waiting for us. The location is a good base to visit and explore nearby towns and attractions. Assis is a half hour drive away and well worth a visit. We also went further afield to Orvieto with it’s fantastic cathedral and Spoleto for the spectacular medieval arched bridge. We would recommend wine tasting at the vineyard Castello Monte Vibiano a short drive away. The pizza restaurant in the village is extremely welcoming with great food, fantastic value and only a 10 minute walk. The general vibe of Casa Nestore is peaceful, relaxed, comfortable and safe. We definitely want to go back for another lovely relaxing holiday.

Summary: Beautiful setting within the Umbrian hills, a stones throw from Italy's 4th largest lake (Trasimeno). Casa Nestore is clean, well maintained and equipped, with a great welcome from Nick and Mandi, the owners. It was great for a late summer break, and certainly still warm enough for a few dips in the well sized swimming pool. The local restaurant and bar, in Castigleone Della Valle (<10 min walk), made for a great evening on one of the days. I'll certainly go back to Casa Nestore with friends again!

Summary: Just returned from a wonderful stay in the Olivia, Casa Nestore apartment. The location is beautiful and perfect whether you want to relax by the pool or get out and explore the surrounding area. The apartment is brilliantly equipped with everything you need to self cater but we spent most of our time trying out the local restaurants. Mandi and Nick are very knowledgeable and happy to advise on places to eat and visit. If you get the opportunity while you are there visit a village festa ( we went to Monte Petrilolo)for a real local feel for food and entertainment, it is a lot of fun. We also loved visiting the lake which is a short drive away, Castiglione Del Lago is a beautiful historical town with lovely restaurants ( fab views) and shops to wander round. They also have an open air cinema during the summer months. Our teenage daughter enjoyed visiting the local water park and would also thoroughly recommend a visit to the local wakeboard park in Perugia. The instructors there spoke really good English and were brilliant. It was very hot during our holiday so in the afternoons it was nice to retreat under the umbrella on the private patio with a glass of Prosecco ( very reasonably priced in the local supermarket!). It would be lovely to go back slightly earlier or later in the season when we are told the temperature is a more comfortable 25-30 degrees. All in all, we had a fab holiday and thoroughly recommend this beautiful apartment in this beautiful part of the world.

Summary: We had a relaxing week in wonderful surroundings with the bonus of a gorgeous swimming pool. There was a nice touch of breakfast waiting for our first morning and even a bottle of bubbly for the evening. Nick and Mandy were very helpful with ideas for local restaurants and places to visit. We had a wonderful time and the apartment was spotless and great value for money. We are booking up again for 2019. Very worth a visit to relax and enjoy Italy.

Summary: A great stay Casa Nestore in the Oliva apartment. Umbria looks great in late spring and it’s already hot enough to make the pool a necessity. Really enjoyed having breakfast at the table by the window overlooking wheat fields laced with poppies with village in the background. Mandi and Nick the owners have a wealth of local knowledge and you will never be short of places to visit and very good local restaurants to eat in. A really relaxing stay: going to repeat the experience in the Autumn to further explore Umbria. As a keen walker I will be exploring the many routes which pass right by Casa Nestore and the weather should be a little cooler.

Summary: Our second stay in this beautiful apartment with the wonderful Lambdens as hosts. Beautiful location with lovely views in the autumn sunshine. This apartment has everything you could possibly need for a beautiful Italian break and we will be back !

Summary: We have just returned from a wonderful week’s stay at Casa Nestore in the Olivia Apartment. The apartment is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and finished to an excellent standard. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bathroom has an excellent walk in shower. The bed is very comfortable and there is plenty of storage space. The apartment has the most picturesque views from all aspects and has its own terrace which we enjoyed in the evenings watching the sun go down over hills with a glass of prosecco! The large shared terrace has plenty of sun loungers and is perfect for sunbathing. The swimming pool is an excellent size, very well maintained and the perfect temperature to enjoy at any time of the day. The location of the apartment is very peaceful and very relaxing. The apartment is an excellent base for exploring Umbria with Perugia and Lake Trasimeno all within 45 / 30 mins respectively by car. There are plenty of walks around the village of Castiglione Della Valle and the woodland around the apartment. There are plenty of cycle and mountain biking routes too. Nick, Mandi and Issac are the perfect hosts and made us feel really welcome and at home. They provided lots of suggestions for places to visit and places to eat and were happy to help with any questions that we had. We highly recommend Casa Nestore Holiday Apartments and look forward to returning to enjoy another stay soon.

Summary: Wonderful family run apartments in a great location. We flew Stansted to Perugia, 30 mins transfer by car. Beautifully finished apartments, with everything you need for your stay. It was a great base to visit Perugia, Lake Trasimeno and we even travelled South to run the San Valentino Marathon. The family we very helpful with lots of local tips for things to do and places to eat. Highly recommended as a base for exploring Italy.
