Negative: The pool was broken and the alternative was too far to walk away. Would have been ideal if some sort of discount was offered because the pool was broken. If not a discount some sort of transport offered that would have got us to the site where their facilities were working. We had the afternoon tea however, something did go wrong and we had to wait for just over an hour for it. However, the staff were communicative and offered a discount to the afternoon tea bill which was appreciated.

Positive: The staff all go out of their way to be helpful. A special thank you goes to the Queen of Madeira - Catia on reception. The breakfast deserves a special mention. We tried several of the dishes during our stay and all were delicious. My personal favourite - smoked mackerel with scrambled eggs. Plus, the hotel is in a blissfully quiet location.

Negative: Nothing comes to mind. The only niggle I can think of is the background music which plays from 7AM to 11PM every day in all public parts of the hotel. We were in one of the rooms above the Ocean Restaurant and you could just hear it in the background. We got used to it after a while but personally, I don't think the music adds anything to the ambience around the hotel.

Summary: Lovely Easter weekend in beautiful Fermain Bay.

Positive: We stayed for 4 nights (one unexpectedly) and the staff throughout the whole stay could not do enough for us. The rooms are clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. The views and gardens are beautiful. There are lots of little nooks and crannies to curl up with a coffee and book. Very relaxing stay and only half hour walk into town. The pebble beach nearby is also a good start for the coastal walks.

Negative: Pool and changing rooms could perhaps be a bit warmer.

Positive: I loved the treehouse accommodation! I was Looking for time away, off the grid to relax and reset and it was perfect! It was warm/comfortable and the spec of all the appliances and the decor etc was perfect! Room service was amazing as I didn’t want to leave the room much to socialise so having dinner bought to me was exactly what I needed! The bed was comfortable, and the black out curtains meant I had a great nights sleep every evening - it was so peaceful and I loved that you could walk straight out onto the cliffs! The staff were so friendly and always keen to help :)
