Negative: Lack of staff. The staff working there were amazing and worked so hard but really needed more. For example breakfast when items became empty they were very slow at replenishing them. When I asked for Museli and it finally arrived I was told that was the last of today’s portion!!!

Positive: The location is fantastic. Steep walk down to the beach where there is a lovely cafe and a gorgeous cliff path. The hotel terrace is a real sun trap. We stayed in one of the tree houses. The staff at the hotel were excellent.
Negative: The tree house is very dark and does not have a window, just double doors which you can't leave open at night, so it gets quite hot in the room.

Negative: The pool was broken and the alternative was too far to walk away. Would have been ideal if some sort of discount was offered because the pool was broken. If not a discount some sort of transport offered that would have got us to the site where their facilities were working. We had the afternoon tea however, something did go wrong and we had to wait for just over an hour for it. However, the staff were communicative and offered a discount to the afternoon tea bill which was appreciated.

Positive: The staff all go out of their way to be helpful. A special thank you goes to the Queen of Madeira - Catia on reception. The breakfast deserves a special mention. We tried several of the dishes during our stay and all were delicious. My personal favourite - smoked mackerel with scrambled eggs. Plus, the hotel is in a blissfully quiet location.
Negative: Nothing comes to mind. The only niggle I can think of is the background music which plays from 7AM to 11PM every day in all public parts of the hotel. We were in one of the rooms above the Ocean Restaurant and you could just hear it in the background. We got used to it after a while but personally, I don't think the music adds anything to the ambience around the hotel.
Summary: Lovely Easter weekend in beautiful Fermain Bay.
