Positive: I had a great stay here, I even extended by one night. The homestay courtyard looks better in person, it’s quite lovely. Excellent, central location and ~5 mins walk to the harbour. You can rent a bike, snorkel gear and life jackets at this homestay for cheap prices. Also, the free breakfast is truly exceptional. Nicely prepared fruit platter, banana pancake (my favourite one I’ve had in Indonesia) or omelette AND tea/coffee - for this budget price point it is extremely good. The couple that run this home stay are really personable and chill, I was very well looked after and they were always available to help. As an example, they went super above and beyond when I asked if I could store and reheat my restaurant leftovers AFTER I already checked out. The wife plated my leftovers for me nicely and even replaced the leftover rice with fresh rice from her kitchen! I was so touched! The other guests were also friendly and always said hello. It was a great, laidback vibe.

Negative: Yes the bathroom is old but the bungalow was very comfortable, clean and had everything necessary. It is strange to be fussy about small details yet book a budget homestay. No hot water (the shower water was room temperature here) and a ‘wet’ bathroom, which are normal in homestays all over Indonesia.

Positive: We had a good time at Family Bungalow. The bungalow was very clean and comfortable with air conditioning and a net for mosquitoes. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with many fruits and we were given the choice for other things, our omelettes were delicious. The entire family and their staff are very friendly and polite. We also liked their garden, with several fruit trees. Would definitely come back!
