Summary: Lovely hotel, only issue was the huge furniture in the room that cluttered up space so made one side if the room unusable. Sometimes, less is more!

Summary: On arrival check in was smooth and our bags were taken to our rooms for us. The room itself was lovely, we were in an Attic Superior room. The dressing gown provided had a belt loop missing and was rather tired, not the end of the world but also not something you would expect from a 5* luxury spa. The facilities are very good and it never felt too busy whilst we were in the spa area. The rooftop pool is a must come rain or shine. Whilst there we were celebrating a special occasion and unbeknownst to us a bottle of champagne had been ordered by someone not staying there to be sent to the room on the Sunday. Luckily they sent a message to check it had arrived before we’d checked out on Monday, as it had not. It was queried with the reception staff on check out and they confirmed they could see it on the bill, when asked for it to be removed they explained that it had to be requested by the person who ordered it. At no point was there an apology for the champagne not arriving just a matter of fact explanation of the hoops the purchaser would have to jump through to get their money back, like this was our mistake and our problem. We won’t be in a rush to return to a hotel that does not apologise when a mistake has been made by them. Really disappointing end to the stay.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at the hotel. The staff were polite and helpful. The one and only problem was lack of signage to the various spas and pools. We kept getting lost. Apart from that we loved it.

Summary: Had a fantastic 2 night stay. Staff were super helpful, friendly, just all round brilliant. The hotel was clean, the room (202) was large with comfy beds, lovely decor throughout. The food was to die for. We had steak which melted in the mouth cooked to perfection. The menu to suit all tastes including vegetarian and vegan. The spa facilities were amazing. Heated pools indoor and outdoor. Steam rooms, saunas and salt room. Massage, facials etc available. We were just so chilled after our stay. Special mention to Amy our waitress. She was fabulous. Told us about the history of the building and Buxton. Laura, Hannah, Vicky in housekeeping, but everyone was so lovely. Would I recommend 100% - we would all go back in a heartbeat.

Summary: Nice hotel but a few irritations during our stay. Creaky floorboards in the room above woke us up at 6am - not ideal for a relaxing spa break overnight stay. Late night noise from the pubs that back on to the hotel. Room chrome cast wouldn’t work. Room services charges are extortionate - £10 charge to bring food up to the room is unnecessary and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Room was clean, bed very comfy, spa facilities done really nicely. Staff all friendly. Just the above mentioned nuisances that would probably put us off staying again.
