Summary: Classic American park hotel

Summary: The hotel is charming, the location is very nice. The hostess at the restaurant for breakfast was mean.

Summary: First room (at $400 + per night) overlooked service parking lot. Locks on the room door were very hard to manage; hard to lock and unlock. Dining room experience was very unsatisfactory

Summary: The most wonderful thing about El Tovar was that it overlooks the Grand Canyon the location you can’t beat, but unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told to make a reservation at the restaurant because it gets busy and we couldn’t get anything on till 8:45 because I don’t have enough staff to accommodate everybody that was staying there maybe because it was off-seasonso we had to eat elsewhere Our rooms were very small, but that was to be expected because it’s an older hotel but beautifully appointed unfortunately the bathroom toilet kept running all night long so it was hard to sleep. I did let them know in the morning. Hopefully they fixed it.

Summary: We arrived early and stopped by the front desk to verify our reservation. Not only was our reservation in order but they gave us a room even though it was way in advance of their checkin time. They also made reservations for breakfast in the morning.

Summary: Liked that the hotel was right in the National Park, but the rooms were very small, the stairs were hard to navigate, and we were on the 3rd floor and moving luggage was hard without an elevator. The rooms being small meant it was hard to take out clothes from the luggage. It needed a bigger desk to place stuff including our computers and the coffee machine within the room. The TV was all analog channels, so no HD! If we were paying so much money, you'd think the hotel would be better. On the plus side, great views of the Canyon, and easy to find places to eat/drink nearby. Also easy to get to the shuttles and was right next to the Angel trail for one of our hiking days.

Judith Apr 4, 2025 10:08:35 AM
Summary: Great historic hotel with great dining and service.
Elise Apr 4, 2025 04:35:59 AM
Summary: Our stay was amazing due to the location right on the South Rim. We lobe the historic hotel although felt that it was long overdue for a renovation of the guest rooms

Summary: Wonderful, historic hotel. Great dining at El Tovar Dining Room.
