Positive: Beautiful position on the river. Luxury accommodation and marvellous food. The boat trips were great - saw lots of animals and birds and our guide was good. Has a spa with friendly staff. Lots of lounge areas. Pool was lovely. The wait staff are lovely and friendly.

Negative: Booking.com say there is aircon - there is not. This was annoying to say the least as this was one reason we booked here. The shower water could not be regulated during the day and it was too hot. Our game trip into Chobe was disappointing. Not because we didn’t see animals - we saw many elephants and birds - it it was rushed and short. After going through two immigration points to get there we felt rather let down. Perhaps if there were specific favoured guides it would be better for the customer. The boat trips were excellent. This is an expensive place but the hassle of the Immigration was a bit much - had to exit Namibia and enter Botswana to get to Chobe Park and then do the reverse on the way back for a 2 hour game drive. If you don’t like suspension bridges, and I don’t, ask for a room that does not require using this. We didn’t know this was an option until too late. I’m sure some people would love the challenge but not if you have vertigo!!

Positive: We spent 2 wonderful days at Water Villas, liked everything, the delicious food, the extremely friendly staff, especially Kelvin, the captain on the boat, Joy, the lady, who explained us what we should order for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Josephine, who were with us on our two boat tours and always had a smile in her face. We were the only guests, felt like kings in France in this wonderful calm and peaceful landscape on the Namibian side of Chobe river and enjoyed really each second. Sorry, Joel, somedays we will come back ….
