With Sedbergh Golf Club just meters away, and the exclusive use of a ¾ mile stretch of fishing in the Cambrian Dee plus 12 acres of lush pasture land to enjoy, you don't have to go far to be where you want to be.
The beautiful farmhouse sleeps 8 with 3 double bedrooms (2 of which are en-suite) and 1 twin room. The peaceful bedrooms overlook the vibrant river and gaze upwards to the stunning Yorkshire/Cumbrian Fells. Downstairs you'll find a fantastic space to entertain with a large wood-beamed dining/living area and log stove. Enjoy a gripping book or film by the fire in the cosy snug, and catch up on some relaxed cooking time in the bright and well-equipped kitchen.
Kick off your boots in the utility room and you'll step out on to a beautifully heated stone floor, featured throughout the whole bottom floor to keep you warm.

Summary: We had a lovely week at Catholes. It's a really relaxing house. The location is beautiful and the interior is super comfy - it was quite hard to get out of the sofas! It's a big house so there was plenty of room to spread out and relax during the day and then the snug was cozy and welcoming in the evening to watch a bit of telly. The kitchen was very well equipped - you do end up walking backwards and forwards quite a bit because the sink and cooker are either side of the middle countertop, but having all that prep room and storage makes up for it. The appliances all looked like new and were easy to use and we had five out of seven lovely family meals at the big dining table. Beds and bathrooms all good and Mike the host was really helpful when we reported there was a leaky tap in the main bathroom - it was fixed the same day. Our dog loved the garden - particularly when we ran right round the house with her! We did keep her off the front lawn (the other side of the fence) as there is quite a drop down to the river, but we were quite happy using the back garden. Location is also great and there are loads of places to visit and things to do. We had a fab time!

Summary: This was our second stay at East Catholes and it was just as great as the first! The location is idyllic with great walks and scenery. The house is well equipped and worked perfectly for our family group of 8.

Summary: A wonderful spacious house well equipped kitchen and the fields and river made it wonderful for the dogs to play . 8 pm bat watch was fascinating watching the bats appear from inside the roof and fly off The local golf club food was lovely and welcoming. Having a boot room really helped with storage for bikes sups and swimming gear . A wonderful house A wonderful location. We didn't switch the TV on once Walks galore straight out the door with rivers to swim in in all directions. A real get away from the rat race Utterly relaxing.

Summary: Great little house but - one of the chairs in the snug had a broken seat and there is an almost sheer drop from the lawn outside into the river some 30-40 feet below. There is no warning and no fencing - a disaster waiting to happen with small children. I should think it would leave the owners highly liable to being sued!

Summary: We spent a wonderful May half term here - we needed to be in the area for a friend's wedding. We were extremely lucky with the weather. The kids loved playing in the river by the meadow. The house is well equipped and everyone was very comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to my emails before we arrived and we felt welcomed. We hope to return!
