Spend your vacation living in close harmony with nature in this beautiful octagonal oceanfront home. The home offers two nicely decorated bedrooms - each with its own private bathroom. There is one very large bedroom upstairs and one downstairs for complete privacy. The upstairs also has a walk in closet with a sink and small refrigerator. The kitchen has a lovely bar to the patio.
The upstairs bedroom is huge, more like a studio apartment than just a bedroom. With screened windows all around, you will feel you are living among the trees. This bedroom has its own mini-kitchen, refrigerator, full bathroom, and a safe for valuables. In addition to the queen bed, this room also has a convertible sofa bed (with two real single mattresses) that can sleep two more. In this room you will awake to gorgeous sunrises over the ocean, perhaps with howler monkeys in the trees outside.
The downstairs bedroom is conveniently located at ground level for those who may prefer to avoid stairs. Now with A/C. The windows are screened to allow all the ocean breezes to flow right through. Wake up and step outside to the covered patio, where you will enjoy your morning coffee with a peaceful view of the ocean just steps away! The entire home is set like a jewel in a dramatic rock formation on the edge of the ocean. Iguanas sun themselves amid the tropical plantings, and monkeys often can be seen in the trees.
The home is located in a private, quiet area with only three other homes nearby. Stroll down the road to find a sparkling river that empties into the ocean. Before that a lovely 8 foot waterfall cascades into a clean, fresh-water swimming lagoon with a rope-swing for the kids. Kids of all ages will also love exploring the tide pools among the rock formations.
Of course, there is also a beautiful sandy beach for those who prefer sunbathing, snorkeling, or ocean swimming. Good news for fishing enthusiasts, this is one of the best fishing spots around, so bring your gear! We do provide basic fishing reels. Do you prefer surfing? A quick 5-minute walk from the house will take you to the Los Cedros surf break (boards may be rented in town).
One of the best attributes of this rental is that you can avoid the expense of a rental car because the local shuttle bus runs close by the house. And if you like, it is a easy 20 minute walk to Montezuma. Catch the bus in one direction to get to Montezuma with its shops, restaurants, and nightlife. In the other direction you will find the small sleepy village of Cabuya, and the world-famous Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve. Whether you prefer wildlife viewing or snorkeling, surfing or fishing, nightlife or peace and quiet, Las Rocas truly offers something for everyone. Summary: Everything was great. We mostly stayed at the property, but did go to Montezuma a few times to buy produce and visit restaurants. We bought fish from a guy on the side of the road and spent a lot of time in hammocks. The man next door was really friendly and didn't seem to mind that i didn't understand a word of Spanish! I came here to see monkeys and saw so many monkeys at the property.

Summary: We loved our stay at Casa Las Rocas! The listing and reviews are totally accurate. The home is so unique and has such a beautiful vibe. We cooked all of our meals in the lovely kitchen with the perfect outdoor eating space. The view and nature is spectacular! We woke up to Howler monkeys most mornings! Lynn the onsite property manager was very helpful before the trip, providing guidance and recommendations via WhatsApp and she met us at the property to explain things. We visited over Semana Santa (Easter) weekend so things were busier than usual, including the campsite nearby but we quickly adjusted. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a local, nature filled Costa Rican adventure! Thank you, Tad!

Summary: Our stay at this property was great! Starting with the booking and communication with the property owner. We always heard back very quickly if we had any questions. We were met at the property by Lynn, the property manager upon arrival and she was always more than willing to help with anything or answer any questions that we had about the surrounding area. She even made a special trip to bring coals for the BBQ so that we could cook up our fresh caught fish (caught out front). Montezuma is a quaint village and we enjoyed either walking 25 minutes into town (very scenic) or getting a taxi for 8USD. On days that we didn't go into town we enjoyed spending time at the nearby beach, fishing with the locals or hiking to waterfalls - also very near to the house. The house itself has everything that you need. The reason for only giving 4 stars for property description though was that we were expecting a washing machine but did not see anything available to guests while we were there. We visited in February and the heat was pretty intense. Thank goodness for the newly installed A/C in the downstairs bedroom. It was wonderful! Unfortunately, our friends who were sleeping upstairs found the heat and lack of significant breeze hard to sleep with. Keep this in mind if planning a trip during the hottest months. Other than that it was a great experience that we would definitely recommend to others who are looking for something unique and truly authentic Costa Rican.

Summary: We had a wonderful time! It really is a spectacular location, feels private, and has great beaches within walking distance. The house itself has such a great vibe - you will feel like you are one with nature here - so fun for the kids with all of the lizards and hermit crabs wandering on the property. The towns of montezuma and cabuya are both a very short drive away with amazing restaurants. Highly recommend!

Summary: We were very pleased with our recent stay. The house location was exactly what we wanted. Far enough away from town to be peaceful and quiet but close enough that we could take advantage of everything in Montezuma. Tad was very easy to work with during the booking process, even accommodating a last minute change on our end. The check in process was easy. We met Lynn onsite and she explained everything about the house and gave us plenty of pointers on things to do during our stay. Overall we couldn't be more pleased with our stay.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at Casa Las Rocas! The location was amazing! We had a wonderful view of the ocean and there was a great beach for swimming just a couple minutes walk from the house. The property manager, Lynn, was super helpful in answering all our questions and recommending fun activities in the area. Would definitely stay agian!

Summary: Everything was perfect! We could have stayed another week or two at least! We loved walking down to the fresh water river and lagoon.All of the food we bought to cook at Las Rocas was wonderful and so fresh! Noa and her daughter Lyn were wonderful hosts! We'll be back!
