Beautiful house on the beach for rent near the village. The area is safe and fairly quiet with plenty of scenic views. The house is has air conditioning in every room as well as a big patio garden and parking space for two cars. Summary: At first glance, the house is super cute. The patio and the views are stunning. I could (and did) sit on the patio for hours a day. It was clean when we checked in and the person who greeted us was great. It’s also very central to the little village (1 minute walk to restaurants and supermarket) and to Zuma tours for excursions. Downsides - the beach here is pretty littered. You can’t really tell from the gorgeous patio view, but when you leave the patio,it’s littered with driftwood and garbage. That’s not the fault of this vrbo or the host. There was also a person in a tent living 10 feet from our back door on the beach, which was odd and slightly disturbing. The host was available after check in and very nice. The WiFi was down during our stay. The place is largely open air which is magnificent for the views, but know that the kitchen has a monumental ant issue that makes it difficult to cook.

Summary: Waking up to the sound of the ocean and being able to walk right onto the beach from the yard is wonderful. The staff at Zuma Tours are very nice and helpful. The house is within walking distance to restaurants, groceries, bars, shopping....pretty much whatever you may want/need. Being so close to everything, you can sometimes hear the goings on in town but it didn't bother us. We really enjoyed our stay at Ivan's House. Montezuma is a laid back beach town that is an excellent place to get away. We did a fishing trip and bioluminescence tour with Zuma Tours. They were amazing experiences! We got to see humpback whales, dolphins, and sea turtles on the fishing trip! Tortuga Island is beautiful and swimming in the bioluminescent water is so cool! I highly recommend booking a tour with Zuma Tours.

Summary: Located directly on the beach south end of Montezuma- short walk to all services. Sound of the ocean lulls you to sleep, although there's a couple of places within earshot that will sometimes have louder music (not when we were there.)

Summary: Traditional older beach home ... super cool.. great location very friendly staff .. Rented the place to get out of the hustle of Santa Teresa .. stayed 3 nights.. Montezuma is still a laid back Costa Rican beach town

Summary: Ivan’s house was just as described. You open the front gate and you’re on the beach. You don’t need a car if you want to hang around town or go to the beach. Stores and restaurants are a very short walking distance. Zuma tours is on the same property so tours are a no brainer if you want to book a trip to Tortuga island or something else fun. There is a hostel next door but we were pleasantly surprised by how little noise there was. The air conditioned bedrooms were much appreciated because it was very hot. We enjoyed drinking wine on the porch hammocks with the roar of the ocean and a stunning view.

Summary: This unit we rented was very clean. The bountiful gardens was well taken care of and its flora attracted a variety of birds and butterflies. Max was an exceptional host and responded immediately to any needs that arose.

Summary: We had an amazing stay in Montezuma. Ivan’s House felt like a second home to us - it was perfectly located and had all the amenities we needed. It felt quaint and nostalgic, the perfect place to experience the culture of Montezuma. Francesca made our check in process very smooth and was very hospitable. Zuma Tour’s was very professional and helpful in booking our transportation needs and experiences. 5 star experience!

Summary: Such a wonderful place! Communication with Francesca and Giulia was easy and clear. The house is right on the beach and easy walk to shops (especially loved the fruit/vegetable stand almost across the street. Get up early at least once to watch the sunrise right out the door. Beach out front is calm for swimming so a little busy. Other more secluded places are within walking distance

Summary: The location was excellent and the home was perfect. Just what you would hope for in an open air home on the beach with incredible sunrises and view of the water every morning! Convenient to walk to any store, restaurant or bar the small town has to offer. Can enjoy hearing some evening music from local outdoor areas, but not too loud. In comparison to Santa Teresa, Montezuma was a great quiet, less crowded beach and town to stay--glad we made this choice. Highly recommend it!
