Positive: We were attending a three day wedding and needed a base close by that would give us space for the kids and allow us a mini break by the beach. The house is beautiful, we loved the decor, the layout, the location is fantastic. The surrounding gardens are beautiful with wild rabbits darting here there and everywhere which was lovely. It was all really clean and well looked after.

Negative: There most definitely is a problem with the drains that absolutely needs looking into. A foul odour would emanate from the bathroom and the large cupboard in the kitchen, and linger all day, making us all feel rather queasy. We wouldn't have been able to just relax in the house with the smell that bad so we were lucky it was just our base. There is a guestbook in the house where numerous people have written about this smell. So I wonder if it's a problem that has occurred in the last year as the latest review on booking.com doesn't mention it. Opposite the house there was a large bouncy castle and trampoline park that had been set up directly infront of the house which wasn't in any of the photos. The photos show a clean and tidy tennis court with picnic tables - which it is definetly not, I wouldn't have booked if I had seen this which is why im sure it's never mentioned. The music blasting can be annoying if you want to relax outside. It would be a 10/10 without the bouncy castles trampolines and drain issues.

Summary: Beautiful house and fantastic location for polzeath beach, just a shame about the sewage smell :(

Positive: It was self catering. Good location. The cottage was spacious. Every requirement was provided. Everything was good. The shower was temperamental.

Negative: We did not have hot water out of the kitchen tap throughout the duration of our stay. We had to boil water in the kettle to use for washing up. For only one evening we also did not have hot water out of bathroom sink tap.

Summary: Our stay was enjoyable in general.

Positive: Near to centre of Polzeath, short stroll to beach. Tucked up a small lane, a cozy cottage, with good parking. Very clean and comfortable, and very well set out for its size, with lots of arty décor. Rear patio was handy for preparing for beach and on return. Suited our needs very well.
