Positive: Athena is a little gem hidden in the quiet Bugulobi suburb area. The facilities are superb for such a smaller size hotel, with plenty of light in the spacious bedrooms which are relatively soundproofed (ie. could not hear the music coming from the pool terrasse area during an evening event) and with new installations (shower, AC etc, everything worked perfectly). Each floor has a spacious, nicely decorated lobby, and the restaurant (both indoors and outdoors by the swimming pool) is very comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, we were very grateful for the care and assistance provided for a sick colleague. Kampala Market Village Mall is walking distance (10 min walk) providing access to nice small restaurants/coffee places. I definitely recommend

Negative: The shuttle driver apparently was not informed in time by the booking company and showed up 40 min later than expected...Luckily, we had built it extra time to account for Kampala traffic to reach back to the airport.

Positive: The staff made the breakfast experience great; the selection was not so wide, but it was adequate. The bathroom was sizeable and clean; the check-in staff were also super helpful. It was a stress-free hotel that was located close to the venue where we were having a family gathering. All in all a very clean, problem free stay.

Negative: It was approximately 95 dollars a night; I think it could have been less costly. I am not sure about bringing my children; I didn't see child-friendly spaces.

Summary: It was a great stay, a clean, problem free hotel is always best when you are travelling.

Positive: Breakfast was good with room for more offerings such as pastries and an eggs station. Location was perfect for the reason for my travel and the staff were very friendly & helpful.

Negative: The gym was not properly equipped and suited for travellers who do not need to use it or the swimming pool. The hotel has an opportunity to offer more pastries and an eggs station for the breakfast offering.
