THE LOCATION
Vernon Township is in Sussex County New Jersey, USA. It is located about 1 hour from New York City and was established on April 8, 1793. Iron mining was prevalent during the mid-to-late 19th century. Mines such as Canister Mine, Williams Mine, and the Pochuck Mine created industry which spawned local businesses and brought rail travel to the town.
Today Vernon and the immediate area is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Here you will find a landscape consisting of residential and resort communities, farmland, apple orchards, pumpkin patches, bird watching, barns, horse farms and stables, lakes, fishing, and just so much natural beauty. Summary: Went for a quick ski trip with the family and this place was perfect. Parked the car in the garage and didn’t need it until we left. Walked to lodge, lifts and snowtubing. Enjoyed the outdoor pool and hot tubs as well. Very clean and everything you need for fun time.

Summary: Stairway to Heaven on the AT is too busy in summer. Winter is the perfect time to do it and this was a lovely way to rest, relax and warm up. The fireplace was cozy. The view was fabulous and the year round pools, hot tub and sauna were so soothing. Highly recommend.
