Positive: My stay at Aldejus homestay was amazing from the beginning till the end. Right after I've placed my reservation I had some questions and also I needed transport to and fro the airport. The homestay organized everything for me so I could arrive with peace of mind that everything was taken care of. The bungalow itself is clean, very well maintained and lived up to my standard. When it comes to the food, delicious and varied options everyday, food was never the same. Meat, fish, tempeh, they also cater to your individual tastes (vegan,pescatarian, etc.). There's a dive shop nearby - Tarzan diving with whom I did most of my immersions, the region is full of amazing dive sites, that's also what convinced me to stay at Friwen Island: it is remote, gives one the feeling of having landed at the end of the world, however, it is still possible to move around and do extra activities. By the way, the owners of Aldejus organize some trips, it's best to ask them. All in all, a wonderful stay, I can only recommend 👍🏻

Negative: Everything was great. However, the island is undergoing development and getting slowly more built up. Two days of my stay there was a chainsaw going on all day since trees were cut out to make space for new bungalows of the property next door. If you seek peace and tranquility I'd ask about that before planning your dates.

Positive: The food was great and there were ample portions. The woman who ran the property was very considerate of our needs and made sure we were comfortable.

Negative: The room was a little dark and the electricity was only on at night.

Summary: The diving was fantastic and the accomodations were very nice.

Positive: This place is stunning! The rooms are gorgeous and the food is great. There is a man from the local village who came and took us on an amazing snooker right across the bay where there was the most amazing fan corals. The view is idyllic and the owner is very responsive, proactive and helpful. This place has a great feel to it. Great for kids!

Positive: Aldejus homestay was a super positive experience for us. The bungalows are super nice: a great bed with a good mosquito net, warm water shower (which is rare!!) and a comfortable toilet. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious for the homestays. The town near Aldejus was nice to visit, the beach beautiful. The food was delicious every meal, freshly cooked with variation. The people were super friendly, helpful and accommodating (the cute dogs were a perk). We could buy beer, coconuts and soft drinks for very reasonable prices. We did our diving with Tarzan diving, which is a 10min boat ride away (a lovely commute). Overall: we loved Aldejus and would definitely come back, a 100% recommend!!

Positive: We are divers and chose Aldejus mainly due to its proximity to Tarzan Diving. The transfers were well organized and the communication with the hosts was good, although mainly through Whatsapp, due to the fact that the family speaks little English, but we didn't mind. We really loved the food and appreciated that they were able to cater to vegetarians. Lunch packages were prepared for the days on which we went diving. Western bathroom was also highly appreciated. The family was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Negative: The lack of cleanliness was an issue for us. The beaches were quite dirty, due to a lot of trash being washed in from the ocean (which isn't the locals' fault and seems to be a seasonal issue) and lots of dogs running around and doing their business in the sand. So lying at the beach wasn't really possible. The tides are very strong so that also limits the time in which you can go snorkeling. We found a dead cockroach in our bathroom upon arrival and we also spotted a few rats running around the property (also in our room), although we heard this is an issue all around Raja Ampat. Also be aware that electricity is only available during the night, which again seems to be the norm in most places. The view was ok but I think there might be better ones in Raja Ampat. We found the transfer fee to get to/from Aldejus (800k per direction) very expensive, especially since it's only a 25-30min boat ride from Waisai. Also it would have been nice if someone had explained to us that communication would be via WhatsApp prior to arrival, so the only introduction we got was from other guests staying at the Homestay.

Positive: It's really nice to have a flush toilet after a few days in Raja Ampat. Compared to other homestays, there was plenty of food and a really good food. We also had a great day out to Piaynemo

Negative: Unfortunately, even though we had an incredible experience on the trip to Piaynemo, it's very sad to see homestay staff throwing trash and cigarettes into the sea in such a beautiful place. The island of Friwen is really very dirty and no one seems to care about it, the beach in front is covered in plastic, and we saw guys throwing cigarettes and plastic into the sea which is very sad and tarnishes the beauty of the place, which should be protected like a sanctuary

Summary: People don't care about the environment, the island is full of plastic

Positive: One of the nicer Homestays in Raja Ampat, food was great, very nice family. You habe Electricity usually the whole night to run the fan and load your electronics, whis is not a given in Raja Ampat! and own bathroom.

Negative: they really make an efgort and try to make it as hygenic as possible! You just need to know that even if the bungalows are nice, it is still pretty much outside, with all the pets and humidity of nature that entails.

Positive: Aldejus was great from beginning to end. The staff are lovely and the food was great throughout our four day visit. The accommodations were very nice and the private bathroom made for an easy stay. The rooms here are very nice and although not overwater, the rooms have a good view from the patio and there are only three bungalows here so it feels very private. There is a very nice house reef around the corner about a five minute walk away from the homestay. I strongly recommend Aldejus.

Negative: Lack of wifi can be frustrating if you don’t have cell coverage. Other than that we had no issues with Aldejus

Positive: Great stay, lovely hosts, clean huts, tasty food (also coffee, tea, crackers and fruit available all day) and of course the private bathrooms with warm running water for showering sets aldejus apart from most of the other homestays in Raja ampat. Towels are provided and room cleaning was offered to us. Friwen island is pretty and close to Tarzan diving (5-10 min via boat). Pickup at waisai ferry was smooth and the boat ride took approx 40min. Thank you so much for having us and being a part of my birthday celebration :)

Negative: Bring mosquito spray :)
