Negative: Raflow is not a resort, it is far from it. The breakfast was the worst on the islands, plain bread, fried eggs, jam, butter from shared, not very clean jars. Most of the staff does not speak English. The bathroom had a very strange smell, maybe some kind of disinfectant, and there was no toilet paper. There were three locals on the pre-arranged private tour, which was no problem, they were nice, but no one told me about this in advance that the private tour won't be private.

Positive: Very nice and helpful staff, good food. They can also help arrange trips for snorkeling or bird watching. Big rooms, air-con and fan 24/7. Many birds in the resort area also.

Positive: Exceptionally great staff. Property with great access to good house reef. Spaced out and Nicely set out grounds in peaceful natural surroundings. Standard of accommodation high. Fabulous beautifully cooked lunch and supper. Only open a year and still developing and will only get better I think. Staff will help manage your ferry transit and arrange trips to suit your personal interests.

Negative: My personal preference is for more emphasis on breakfast and less at midday however this is largely cultural. I understood after a couple of days that staff were more than willing to change things by request. I Should have asked 🤷‍♂️

Summary: Perfect and easy access to ferry.

Positive: Love the jetty clear water, song birds, scenery and sunsets.

Negative: Breakfast was limited and the quality and taste were edible but not tasty. Food in general was poor it could be upgraded to better quality and taste. We had red aunts problems in our room biting my toes. Every 3 hours had to sweep the floor with a broom to get the aunts out of the room and front deck.

Summary: It was a unique experience!

Positive: My girlfriend and I stayed at Raflow Resort for 5 nights and we’ve had a lovely time! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The staff will go the extra mile to make sure you have a fabulous and memorable stay in paradise. If you let them know what activities you would like to do, they will organize it for you. The food is phenomenal; everyday there is a selection of fresh fish, chicken, rice, various vegetables and fresh fruit. The rooms are clean and comfortable (soft bed, hot shower, spacious) and the AC is a real plus, we didn’t encounter any mosquitos. Overall a great place to stay a couple nights to explore Waigeo!

Positive: The people working at the resort are the most friendly we've met so far. They really go the extra mile to please the customer, we even booked some extra days because we liked the place so much. Everything can be arranged by them, whether a day's scooter rental, bird watching or just laundry service. The food is good with some nice surprises now and then. Very often some fresh fruit or a fruit juice. The location on Waigeo gets you plenty opportunity to check out the island and Waisai. The jetty has some nice corals for snorkelling and if you like to go scuba diving: just walk 100 meters over the beach to the neighbours. Overall a very nice experience with people that feel like our family.

Negative: Just details. A mosquito net would have been nice, but having said that: we didn't get many in the room by keeping the door closed.
