this flat was my home, i had to move to give my daughter her one bedroom . The venetian furniture of my family gives an intimate atmosphere. The flat is sunny and bright with a nice view on the oldest church of Venice ..San Giacometto di Rialto...the Rialto Bridge is at few steps ...the fish and vegetable market( just at the door) give you the feeling of traditional Venice cooking , a part of the soul of the city....you can feel at home ....all the bacari are waiting for you near by with Spritz and wine. I am a lawyer with my office in Mestre, my goal was to live in Venice to be able to enjoy the feeling of the early morning and the late evening when the silence give you the quiet and the calm to walk around in an old atmosphere.. I like to meet my friends at the traditional cafe , bacari and osterie..I love to know new persons from other countries...many of my guests are now good friends..I think that travel means to know the persons who live in the city and the city itself..no one can introduce you to a new place better then who has chosen to live there...i am very happy to meet that kind of persons who are able to appreciate who gives time to explain the history, the monuments, the exhibitions that give to Venice a special charm and atmosphere..i travel a lot for my job ..it is a pleasure for me to take a coffe with some of my guests in their countries..this is a good way to open your mind and your life to others...it is a great gift for me to host guests who respect my home as theirs...it is difficult to trust a new person to host her in your home giving a so special and important part of your life...it can be a way to pay the mortgage but also to give a nice remember of you and your home ...i think that Venice is still a place where we are good friends with our neighbors..we are few and we know more or less each others...old Venice hospitality are still able to give a positive feeling and to allow others to enter in this old and friendly way of life ...i really hope that you will have a nice memories of your holidays in Venice and my home also .

Summary: We recently spent five very enjoyable days in Venice, staying in Alessia's apartment. This is not a pristine and soulless holiday let - it's a small and cosy family home, located right next to the fish market, and very close to what remains of the Rialto fruit and vegetable market. It's a lively part of town, but noise is not a problem, even when the bar on the campo is in full swing. And a major plus is Alessia herself - she could not have been more welcoming, or more helpful.

Summary: Everything was fine. Alessia is very nice, showed us around. The flat offers everything you need. Except the smell of fish when you open the window is a bit strange - but you have to expect that, if living at the market.

Summary: A beautiful authentic flat in the heart of Venice, with everything that one needs (one bedroom, living room, huge and very well equipped kitchen, bathroom) and a very kind and helpful owner Alessia. For example, when the water boiler got broken at midnight (!), Alessia came immediately and arranged fixing till the next afternoon. Because the building is next to the Pescaria (fish market) when the market is open (morning to noon weekdays), some fish smell is felt on one side, but we were not closing the windows because it was not disturbing at all.

Summary: We didn't stay in this aparment, as it was already rented, but stayed in one for about a week near the Accademia ferry stop (managed by the same person); I don't have an ID number for it. The apartment was clean and large enough for the two of us, and had all that we needed (though we had to hang clothes to dry them), and it was great to be able to prepare some meals. Venice in June is quite touristy, so being a little away from where the tourists are is a positive, you at least have somewhere quiet to escape to. Given how easy and frequent the ferries are, I would consider staying on one of the other islands serviced by ferries next time, e.g. Guidecca or Murano. Venice is a city best explored by foot, so one definitely needs good walking shoes. We stayed in 3 different apartments in Italy (Milan, Florence, Venice) and this one was the largest and had the nicest and best equipped kitchen. The owner had a great selection of classical CD's, though we didn't have time to listen to many.

Summary: "We spent a very nice time at venice... Mrs M. is a lovely and helpfully person , who picked us up in the middle of the night to bring us to our appartement ! We liked this rooms very much...very central, homely,brigt,spaceful and with all you need...a lot of shops and a vaporetto-station near by... and the best : if you love fish...the venice fish-market and rialto-market is in front of the door !!!"

Summary: "The ideal location in Venice. Signora M was easy to communicate with, greeted and guided us to the appartment located in the heart of the Railto Market area. With restaurants, shops and grocery stores literally outside our door, we lacked nothing. The Vaporetto stop is a very short distance away. The appartment was spacious, clean and lacked nothing. No noise enters this sun filled appartment. We intend to return for a longer stay. We will never forget watching the July 19th fireworks from the bedroom window as the children slept after a wonderful day in Venice. Mille grazie e ariverderci."
