The Cenare apartment is situated on the 2nd floor, under the roof beams, of a sixteenth century building located on the Sensa Canal in the Cannaregio Sestiere or quarter near the Venetian Ghetto.
Completely restaured in 2011 with great attention to detail, it looks to the west and to the south with views over the canal, over a garden and to the tall buildings of the historic Ghetto.
The dramatic space of the living area is enhanced by the ancient roof beams.
Exceptionally luminous and sunny, it is also quiet and comfortable.
It is an apartment in which to feel truly “at home!”
An overall area of 55 square meters includes a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bath.
The kitchen has a generous working area
suitable for the experienced cook. The owner has taken care of every detail including a wide variety of utensils, plates and dishes.
There is a table for 3-4 people.
The Living Room has a comfortable sofa (sofabed), two arm chairs and a wide writing desk.
The Bed Room has either a double bed (w 160 cm X l 195cm) or else two single beds.
The Bath Room is equipped with a large shower (80cm X 120cm) with a rainfall shower head.
The apartment is not suitable for children under 10 years of age
SURROUNDINGS
The north-eastern part of Venice’s Cannaregio Sestiere or quarter is particularly attractive with its three parallel straight canals, the setting for churches, palaces and minor houses alternating with gardens hidden by ancient brick walls.
It is a more open, airy and luminous part of Venice than other parts of the city.
One can stroll along these canals in peace and tranquillity, enjoying the beauty of the city without the crowds found in the main thoroughfares. Even boat traffic is less on these canals and much less noisy.
In this area there are still many shops, open air markets frequented by locals and delightful restaurants and café’s with waterside tables and live music in summer.
In only a few minutes you find the fruit and vegetable stalls of the open market at San Leonardo while the nearest supermarket (open on Sundays) is only five minutes away.
The Venetian Ghetto lies across the canal where children play in the tree lined square and visits can be made to the Jewish Museum and the historic synagogues

Summary: The flat is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance of all the main sights and also very near the water bus stop. Boat to airport is also very close(you need different tickets from water bus) Very detailed communications with owner who met us on arrival. Would stay again if we revisited Venice. James & Christel

Summary: We've stayed at several VRBOs and this one stands out as one of the most well cared for. It was super clean, well thought out, and had an overall high quality feel to it. Marta was generous with her time showing us the apartment and helping us get settled in. We really liked the location as it was very quiet, yet one bridge crossing away there was some several good restaurants and night life. Summary: Cozy flat in Cannaregio was absolutely perfect and Marta couldn’t have been a better host. The location was perfect for us, walking distance from all the sights but on a quiet street one canal crossing away from a fun, restaurant and bar laden area that boasts some really fantastic restaurants.

Summary: We loved our stay in Marta's apartment - it felt like a real 'home from home'. The apartment has so much character and is beautifully furnished with a very well equipped kitchen - in fact we ended up cooking there all the time as there is a great supermarket a short walk away. The midi canals are stunning and we loved returning to the apartment at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Marta is a very warm and charming person and most helpful - she gave us lots of information on arrival which helped us to settle in quickly and find our way around. We would love to return one day!

Summary: Everything about our stay in Venice was outstanding! Marta has the most lovely property that is in an excellent location (quiet with grocery and restaurants close by, close transit and great hub for everything we wanted to see) and is a very well equipped flat with anything you could need (guide books, maps, well stocked kitchen with lots of basics). We cooked several meals in and had all we needed! The flat is as described - and so charming and comfortable, we felt right at home. Could not be more pleased with our stay and meeting this fab host who took the time to meet us in person, go over everything we could want to know and was quick to respond with any questions! Highly recommend!!!
