Welcome to our studio on the 3rd floor of the Historic Gellerstedt Building. This building was built in 1890 by the Gellerstedt brothers to house their clothing business. The 3rd floor was where the Taylor’s hand made all the clothing for the Gellerstedt clothing company. Tailor-made suits were then shipped to New York. Through the years a few businesses were established on the first floor the longest being a bank . Renovation of this beautiful building was completed in 2017.

Summary: We rented this for a college reunion and it was the perfect space for reconnecting with friends. We enjoyed the open kitchen for entertaining and the generous spaces for getting ready together. The location allowed us to walk to some of our events and enjoyed the freedom to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Pack light because the stairs are no joke. Great workout! One improvement would be to close off the front sleeping area for a true bedroom (even if small) and add a shower to the powder room.

Summary: Beautifully renovated space, clean, updated, high ceilings, very spacious. Loved everything about it except 3 things. 1) big wasp problem in master bedroom, killed 5-10 wasps daily which kinda freaked out my wife and son. BUT they were usually already on the floor almost dead, really strange but not desirable. 2) AC/heat is a strange system that doesn’t work well. Happened to be 30 degrees the week we went and was very cold some nights. 3) very loud. As an older building, part of its charm, it has no noise insulation. Lots of ambient noise seemed like it was in the room with us… train that wraps around the unit 90 degrees, restaurant’s using dumpster behind back bedroom, loud cars, etc… Owner and manager very responsive and willing to help in any way possible. If I could do it again maybe go with 2nd floor rental to avoid the wasps… location is perfect, parking is great, everything you want in walking distance.
