This beautifully presented cottage enjoys a peaceful setting nestling amongst nine acres of birch woodland and the scenic countryside of Strathnairn Glen just east of Loch Ness. The cottage is very well-equipped and furnished with your every need taken care of. Accessed via a rough track, it has been thoughtfully positioned to ensure privacy along with stunning views across the open countryside and on towards the Monadhliath mountain range. Only six miles from the Highland capital of Inverness, 26 miles from the popular Aviemore and 11 miles from Loch Ness, the cottage makes a perfect base for exploring the many delights this beautiful part of the Northern Highlands have to offer. On the doorstep there are many miles of well sign posted forest walks and mountain bike trails with many more activities available including skiing and snow boarding in Aviemore and the Cairngorm National Park, boat and fishing trips on Loch Ness and all along the Moray coastline and hill walking and climbing on some of the most scenic mountain ranges in Scotland. Golf is also available with many championship courses within easy reach. Take a trip over to the lovely west coast and the Isle of Skye and a day trip to the Orkney Islands is highly recommended. There are many historical sites to visit including Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Cawdor Castle and Brodie Castle to name but a few. Visit the Malt Whisky Trail, the only one in the world! A visit to Strathnairn will evoke memories of a very enjoyable holiday.

Summary: Cosy bungalow with all mod cons and beautiful views from every window. Not much in the way of amenities in the local area but that's what we wanted during covid 19. Lovely walks from the door and bike rides on and off road. Really nicely done cottage a home from home. The immediate grounds would benefit from a little TLC. On arrival don't be put off by the slightly shabby track and static caravans. Once you're at the house you are completely private from the other houses in this little group of holiday houses. Use of shed was great to store bikes for a large family. Plenty of space in the house. So many beautiful spots to explore on the doorstep Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Summary: Lovely holiday away from it all. Two teenagers disappointed with Wi-fi that was slow and patchy and could not be used for downloading or streaming. Understand that this is being sorted. Couple of niggles re furnishings but nothing that spoiled our enjoyment of the cottage. Would return if planning another holiday in the area.
