This 250 m2 villa is built in traditional Mani (stone) style and lovingly restored from its original 1770 castle with wood fire oven still intact! The house is in a tranquil surrounding, surrounded by untouched nature with just the sound of the birds and the goat bells in the distance. The whole vibe of Villa Onor is 'far way from everything and everyone!' It is for someone who really want to relax and let go, read, sleep. cook and explore the nearby attractions. In the winter enjoy the cozy taverns, the fireplace and some red wine and in the summer go diving in the caves and soak up the soon by our pool or on a beach nearby!
The architecture is very traditional stone style yet the villa has also made sure it is still minimal and modern where it has to be. Flomochori village is 5 minutes away, Kotrona is 10 minutes away and Areopoli town is 15 minutes away and is a must see with beautiful cafes, taverns and small bars for those that want to be more adventurous.
Cooking is definitely a must in the villa in this top of the line Gagganeau kitchen so make sure you stock up on food and wine and get the board games (some are provided in the villa) out. The bedrooms all have en-suite bathrooms (the master bath tub/rain shower). The outdoor dining is perfect in the summer or huddled by the fire inside in the winter!
The villa consists of 4 bedrooms. The first two bedrooms are opposite each other, one with two single beds and one with a double and both come with en suite bathrooms and couches that could also easily be made in a bed for a young child.
The third bedroom is in the main house by kitchen and living room and is a double with en-suite bathroom and the master bedroom on the top floor of the villa has a walk in closet and a huge bathroom with bathtub and shower.
All rooms are spaciously spread out around the villa property so as not to bother one another. An extra pull out comfy single bed is also available for a 9th person upon request.
All bathrooms are design Veloudis from Italy and are corian.
The living room is a cozy hangout with a fireplace where Thomas, our caretaker, can provide you wood should you need it, with a flat screen tv and a dvd system. We also have books, board games and some dvd’s for your pleasure.
The kitchen is an island design with corian surfaces and state of the art appliances by Gaggenau where you can all hang out with the cook and the dining outside for breakfast is facing the sea.
The villa has been lovingly restored and we, the owners consider it home. Please treat it like you would your own!!
Amenities include wifi, Olivia products in the bathrooms, live in staff (separate quarters from the villa), free basic concierge service by owner whilst you are in the villa, and daily maid service of 5 hrs a day.
Laundry, grocery shopping, meals are NOT included. If you are interested in these services please let me know and a small fee will be added.

Summary: If there is anywhere as nice as this converted tower house to stay in The Mani then I would be surprised. In fact I think this house rates as one of the best of it's kind in Greece. Secluded, breath-taking vista, immaculately maintained (very comfortable, perfect pool, stunning kitchen, very nice bedrooms), terrific on-site couple who clean/maintain, excellent connectivity - this house is a delight to stay in. But the real marvel of this place is it's location. The Mani is an eye-opener to those who like to get away from the regular trail of tourist destination Greece. The beaches, swimming, tavernas all very good and what you would expect but the majesty of the mountains, the hill top fortified villages, the welcoming people and the absence of other hordes of tourists made this a stunning and memorable holiday. In fact having been to Greece every year for nearly twenty years this stands out as a major highlight. I can't wait to go back and explore more and I would really like to stay in this house again. Thank you Chiana for lending us your family home - what you have created is something unique and very special. I could not recommend this house more highly.

Summary: Peaceful bliss (except for the wasps who made it difficult to use the pool during the day). The house is superbly equipped and Thomas and Linka maintain it to the highest standards. The views from the terrace are hypnotically magnificent .

Summary: This house is the perfect balance of luxury and solitude. I rented it for my extended family for a week in early May. The weather was a bit iffy, but this did not take away from the beauty and comfort of the location. We enjoyed the surrounding landscape with hiking and sitting on the nearby beaches, and savored our every moment in this luxurious home. Hope to make it back again soon!

Summary: The photographs on the website, whilst stunning, simply cannot convey the sheer beauty of this renovated castle and it's surroundings, it was breathtaking and needs to be experienced. The accomodation was exceptional, impeccably clean and so well equipped, every detail has been thought about. The entire property is beatifully maintained and the service and information provided by the owners and their delightful staff was above and beyond the highest expectations. The feeling of being 'at one with nature' , being able to watch the sunrise and hear (and see) the surrounding nature and wildlife resulted in a totally relaxing experience. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time there, especially being allowed to pick the occassional vegetable from the beautifully tended plot and then help to prepare it. Despite feeling away from it all, it was so easy to drive to the nearest village or the beach and idle away a few hours in some of the lovely tavernas. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone intending to visit the Mani area and look forward to visiting it ourselves again. A perfect break.

Summary: We had a wonderful week in the villa. It is a truly beautiful historic property which has been carefully and considerately restored. It has everything you could wish for and we found it to be extremely comfortable and impeccably clean. The setting and view is amazing, as is entire Mani peninsula. The caretaker Thomas and his family were very friendly and welcoming and took exceptional care of us. The fresh vegetables and herbs from the garden were a real treat and delicious! We can't recommend staying here enough - we certainly didn't want to leave!

Summary: This is an amazing property to rent especially if you would like to go "off the beaten path" and away from crowds of tourists. The property itself is spectacular and extremely comfortable, clean, and we had no problems with any part of our stay at Villa Onor. The view from the villa is breathtaking, we almost never wanted to leave. The owner gave us wonderful recommendations however for excursions to beautiful historical towns, pristine beaches, and fabulous restaurants. And, what made renting this property an "over the top" experience was the onsite family who looks after the property. From the amazing meals all made with organic produce from the onsite garden, helping us with any small request we had, and overall being extremely friendly and pleasant, we were very sad to leave them and the property... they truly spoiled us! Overall a terrific experience!!

Summary: My wife was amazed to find we had almost transported our Scottish tower House to a sunshine location, no rain, no cold. The view was a daily delight, and looking out from the infinity pool to the port of Kotronas and showed you how the Eagles, your neighbours on the mountainside, saw the world. The accommodation was fabulous a combination of the traditional but so cleverly combined with all modern day comfort and convenience, and the location whilst remote had for us the advantage of the nearby harbour of Kotronas for the boat as well as reasonable driving access to the main road links. Thomas and his family as on site caretakers are a delightful family, and their amazing home grown vegetables almost prevented us from visiting the wonderful local restaurants. Staying there was a truly magical experience.

Summary: The house was a perfect mix of modern comfort with picturesque tradition. The view is stunning and the garden was the perfect place to spend the day between swimming in the lovely pool and then picking fresh organic vegetables from the garden and cooking in the well equipped beautifully designed kitchen. There are lovely un-touristic beaches and places to visit nearby but it was hard leaving the comfort of this gorgeous relaxing house!!!

Summary: We spent a week in this beautiful property. Our party was comprised of two families with kids ranging from 5 to 11. We had plenty of room and never felt as though we were on top of one another. The house has been lovingly restored and the owners' taste is impeccable. Chiana and her father bent over backwards to make our stay wonderful, even going as far as to make dinner reservations for us, and the caretakers (who were on site) were absolutely charming. The region is truly a well kept secret (and long may it remain so) - a real gem. Totally unspoiled. Lovers of Corsica, Sicily and Sardinia will undoubtedly appreciate this area.
