Positive: A beautiful large property with everything you require. The location is great, central of the island so nowhere is too far away. The locality was lovely, residential, hidden away down the narrow streets. Some nice cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops within walking distance - the local bakery is amazing and just around the corner and a Lidl supermarket is about 10 - 15 minute walk away. Communications were good and a problem we had with some electrical sockets was sorted quickly and efficiently. We would love to return.

Negative: Parking was a bit tight, we had a large vehicle but it did still fit next to the property just about.

Summary: A lovely property, ideal for a group of friends or large family

Positive: We had a wonderful stay in the villa - it exceeded our expectations, all the rooms are beautifully finished, very clean and super comfortable. The whole house is well equipped and the kitchen and dinning area worked very well for us. The location was just right; it felt like the real Malta with a local corner shop (supermarket close by too) and some lovely restaurants all within walking distance and all the tourist sites are a cab ride away - Bolt provided a great service. Margit was an excellent host, very quick response to any query and followed up to check all was ok too.

Summary: A great experience all round - I would highly recommend Zaffir Retreat

Positive: It was just beautiful and so authentic! You can tell the owner takes big pride in keeping the place special!

Negative: Everything was great, but I’ve never stayed in a place where there are no doors or private area for the toilet and shower. But it was fine for us as we were all friends and family.

Summary: It was so fun and the owners were SO accommodating and I would 100% recommend and stay again

Positive: The house itself is spectacular, the pool while not huge is a perfect space to just chill out and relax. Unfortunately there was so many options of how to spend our time we actively forgot what some of them were until genuinely the last night. The neighbourhood was both pretty and felt safe with great options for food all within a 10 minute walk of the house. Pretty centrally located so everything on the island is around 30 mins away in a Bolt (which will increase in price the more times you check and refresh it). Worth every penny. Go here.

Negative: I don't want this to seem disingenuous but the only downside to the whole experience was we had to leave. This was one of those places you go to where all you can do is wonder how you can 180 your life and live there permanently

Positive: We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this retreat villa! Everything was excellent – the villa was spotlessly clean and exceptionally well-maintained. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the pool to the bath and even the game areas. The beds were fresh and comfortable, and we loved the several terraces where we could relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen was well-equipped and tidy, making it easy to prepare meals during our stay. The hostess was incredibly kind and attentive, ensured that our holiday was spent in the best possible way. The villa is conveniently located in the city, yet it feels like a serene getaway. The indoor pool was a highlight for kids. Even in December, the water was perfectly clean and at a comfortable temperature – not too hot, but just right for a pleasant swim. This was truly a perfect retreat! Highly recommended!
