Summary: The service and the people working there are amazing and the property was so peaceful. I truly enjoyed everything about this place.

Summary: I’ve stayed at many ryokan in different parts of Japan; Yukairou Kikuya is by far the best. Not only does it have flawless service, beautiful rooms and superb food, but it has famously beneficial onsen water in baths that range from in-room to private to a larger “public” one that I nevertheless had all to my self. The baths are often outdoors in private gardens, which enhances the experience. I also had a shiatsu massage that ranks among the best of my life. I can’t recommend Kikuya highly enough, and can’t wait to return.

Summary: Wonderful stay at Ryokan Kikuya. It's picturesque, with the stream running through it. Impeccable service, attentive yet discreet. Situated at the heart of Shuzenji Onsen town, one can go on short or long walks with interesting sites to visit.
